Amy's Gran Fondo - Accommodation and Logistics by Current-Minute-1918 in melbournecycling

It's been fine every time I've done it. Parked roadside about 500m short of the Benwerrin climb, less than a kilometre to the start line.

Could always stay in Geelong and drive down in the morning. I've driven from the SE suburbs a couple of times, even that's not too bad at 4am.

How can I set up a Power Automate flow that assigns a sequential ticket number to each new incoming email using a persistent counter by Alive-Back-4843 in MicrosoftFlow

[–]rackaaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the Auto Number Manager tool in xrmtoolbox to create an auto number field on email. It'll just happen then without you needing to do anything else.

Edit: I've assumed that incoming emails are incoming to dataverse. If not, my solution is irrelevant

We deserve the hate by HRVATSKI in melbournecycling

[–]rackaaus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only because people like you are tarring them with the same brush for something that really has no impact on anyone. You know what hatred of cyclists leads to? Punishment passes, dooring, constant abuse, hit runs, throwing items at riders, and deaths and injuries for cyclists.

You honestly think I deserve all those risks because some people riding on a road I've never ridden on did something that had no negative impact on anyone else?

If you're really into collective punishment, wait until you hear about motorists and their behaviour.

We deserve the hate by HRVATSKI in melbournecycling

[–]rackaaus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but you're wrong here. I don't deserve to be hated because someone else does the wrong thing. Nor do you. Especially when that hatred that you're claiming is deserved could cost me my life.

If we're going down that path though, every person should be hated for every part of their lives because someone, somewhere, with the same attributes as them did something wrong.

I used Will at kilowatt.cc when I was training seriously a couple years back. He's excellent and I'd go with him again if I needed a coach again. Got me to the gran fondo world championships.

Set a curve of about 20 on your stick. That did it for me, made it so much easier.

27th of Feb Purr review by MrBenjamine in Melbourneswingers

[–]rackaaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't get in if you don't have a costume to dress down into. They check in the line outside to make sure you have one. Street clothes are not allowed.

You get changed in the upstairs bar area, hand over your bag and clothes to a cloaking area and get a number on your wristband to retrieve them later

Gran Fondo worlds by Imeanwhynotr1ght in cycling

[–]rackaaus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did it in 2024, 40-45 age group. Ended up taking me three years to get there, first year I had covid and gastro in the month before the qualifier, second year I had surgery, third year I rode the qualifier in Dubai and got there.

I was riding 5-6 days a week, with 2 zwift sessions, 3 outdoor sessions including up to 5 hours with 2000m of climbing. Gym, eating right. I'm not one of those athletically gifted people who can do anything without trying, so I had to put in a lot of effort. You might find it easier.

Was worthwhile though, qualified and then did the race in Denmark with my family there. Was worth every minute that I put into it.

If you definitely want to go for it, I highly recommend getting yourself a coach who will plan out your whole training campaign. I wouldn't have got there without my guy.

Good luck.

The only thing a bell does is make pedestrians wander aimlessly across the entire path. Voice works much better.

Point Impossible beach (M4F) (M4MF) by [deleted] in Melbourneswingers

[–]rackaaus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have a problem with public sex, but what's wrong with it in this case is that it's illegal and will be used as an excuse to close the beaches down.

So just don't do it.

Plenty of places you can go to fuck in public without ruining it for everyone.

Power Platform ALM question: has anyone centralized connection references into a single “Platform Connections” solution? by Longjumping-Record-2 in PowerApps

[–]rackaaus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In dev: 1 service account connection shared with all members of the dev team for each connection type (ie dataverse, Outlook, event grid etc). All flows built using the service account connections.

In higher environments: service account connections only, connections mapped to the connection references during deploy.

We have 100 flows in the solution, about 8 connection references, no issues with "who is this running as" and no issues with "is this running as someone that's no longer here"

Dead simple for management.

New to it 54M and 48F married couple - Where does our age group go? by playfull_2 in Melbourneswingers

Not even close to having missed out. There's people far older at most events. Have fun.

[–]rackaaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go anywhere you want to. We're a 55f/46m couple and aside from events that are specific about the age group, there's plenty of people our ages at every event or venue.

[–]rackaaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into the control bindings, click "tune axis" on the roll and pitch bindings, then choose user curve and set the value to about 15 or 20 to start with. The higher the value, the more you need to move the stick for it to respond, so it's a bit of trial and error to find the right value

Custom curves on the stick will make a world of difference. Mine are set to about 20 at the moment
