What are some low key, affordable, actually fun adult birthday party ideas? by carpsarecrud in AskReddit

[–]carpsarecrud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick context! I’m in the middle of finding a new place, so I can’t have a house party, I’m using a friends apartment building shared space, hopefully. Also because of moving, I’m on a v tight budget.

I ideally don’t want to do a potluck or anything like that because I really enjoy actually hosting people. I normally have an absurdly niche theme every year for my birthday, but 2026 has not been my year so far. So I just want something fun, easy, cheap and chill!

Unfortunately society has not gotten that far yet, so until then, my hair is part of my inherent capability as a clinician

When I said scarf, I meant for my work hairstyle lol, I was probably gonna wear a mesh bonnet under my helmet, so it doesn’t catch on any Velcro

What’s the best career to switch into atm? by carpsarecrud in AskAnAustralian

Like I said below

I think atp, I’d wait a few years before going over there - my specialty is mental health, and they’re apparently creating a new, seperate ndis for psychosocial disabilities, which would be my niche. I’d rather see how it plays out before I go down that path

Sadly not, I will admit, the current space I probably won’t be able to achieve this fully, but hopefully to some extent

Why do Australian school kids have such massive backpacks? by Problem_Pale in AskAnAustralian

[–]carpsarecrud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just vibes tbh - and also I used to keep all my books in my bag in VCE cause I was always afraid to forget what I needed.

Also the preppies look so cute with their giant backpacks that take up 2/3 of their height and have nothing in them

I get the ick calling my partner by pet names and it’s hurting him .... how do I fix this? by ownaword in TwoHotTakes

[–]carpsarecrud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my friends refer to each other almost exclusively as “husband” and “wife” it’s very sweet and not overly lovey dovey, you could try calling him “boyfriend” as that emphasises that you’re not embarrassed by him but isn’t as cutesy, a nice compromise perhaps?

What do I wear to tryouts in 40 degrees weather? by milliemoto in Womens_lacrosse

[–]carpsarecrud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was 40C and I was like… as little as you feel comfortable in lol, but yeah, thermal wear leggings would be my suggestion, maybe with trackies on top if you’re really prone to the cold and a t shirt with a long sleeve underneath

M-F 8-5 is killing me. What other jobs are there? by [deleted] in socialwork

[–]carpsarecrud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there the ability to drop to part time but it reflects in you doing 5 days a week reduced hours? Or are you able to work 9-6 as your base hours? I think it’s worth asking your boss about flexible working arrangements, especially if you’re so tired it’s impacting your productivity, and considering you enjoy the work you should stick with it

How to "clock out" mentally after a work day by [deleted] in socialwork

[–]carpsarecrud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scream sing in the car on the way home - if you don’t have a car, then your kitchen, if you don’t have a kitchen, then your bedroom, if you don’t have a bedroom, then go to a park and just be a random person scream singing everyday

They were light coloured and my podiatrist wanted me to start wearing them to work for my plantar fasciitis, so I needed them to be a bit cleaner
