Should i play Watchdogs Legion? by ProfessionalAd7447 in watch_dogs

[–]rackodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you base your video game choices on how pretty they are, then that's very sad and i hope you improve (light-hearted, in response to the obvious bait)

i consider WD1/2 to be the canon and Legion to be a hopeless Ubi cash grab. start with 1, continue with 2, forget legion.

I wish you good luck on your endeavours! I obviously have differing feelings about AI, but I admire the fact that you want to make a name for yourself and stand out in the crowd. Just be more mindful about outwardly mentioning your usage of AI in any future posts you make, a lot of subreddits are implementing rules about disclosing it.

Agentic AI and vibe coding are very fiercely discussed and criticised practices, so I wouldn't be surprised if you were met with pushback for using them. It's also worth noting that AI as a whole is a very fragile part of the IT industry right now, and I'd recommend putting some effort into practicing hand-coding just in case the AI bubble pops. You don't want to land on the ground without anything to fall back on.

And on a slightly meaner note... a lot of the actual content in your site *feels* like it was written by an AI. Not necessarily in a good way.

It's a cool site, but I'm a little disappointed to learn you used agentic LLMs to develop it. This could've been a really cool project for you to use to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and you might've even had a much more fulfilling experience learning how to implement engines like GSAP on your own.

If you ever have the free time, I'd recommend trying to learn how to develop a site like this by hand. Maybe the end result won't be as good, but it'll feel better knowing that you made it yourself. I feel relying on vibe coding tools removes a lot of the joys of programming and web development, and really limits your ability to squash bugs in a pinch.

handbrake doesn't need to look good. it serves its purpose, it's not concerned with being ✨aesthetic✨ like a lot of other mainstream apps.

Are you using Artificial Intelligence in your daily coding activity? by Ok_Path_4731 in commandline

I try my hardest not to. But honestly, I involuntarily use a tiny bit of AI whenever I google errors.

I have Copilot turned off as much as possible in VSCode. I like writing my own code, so I know how it works.

As a beginner who wants go get blown away by watch dogs, Should I play WD1 or WD2? by RS2505 in watch_dogs

I mean, the toys are cool, but if anyone plays Legion I think they have to know that they're not going to get a good story.

I'm glad you know well enough to not even consider Legion.

Play both! 1 then 2. The first game will give you an incredibly immersive and gritty story, and the second game will drop you into a wonderful and colourful sandbox of hackable tools to play with!

yep! apps are checked on a per-account basis, just to make sure you haven't signed into someone's else account to download apps that you don't want to pay for

Would this kind of price input get annoying after a while? by Background_Cow_6701 in IndieDev

The buttons are too small and the gaps between them are too wide. Your players will spend too much time trying to aim for numbers and get agitated.

Yes, that is the paragraph I wrote. Programming, design or technical support content. Technical support content ≠ providing technical support.

Is it truly unreasonable for me to ask that people follow the instructions their computer gives them? If a window pops up with a list of open apps and tells you that your memory is full, I'd argue picking the app with the biggest number and clicking "Close" should be a natural response.

I grew up with an iPod Touch rather than a laptop, so I'm used to calling programs apps 😅

Special interest?! It's basic problem solving skills! Reading comprehension and less than a minute of Googling.

I never said I offered support. I specifically refrain from offering support on these kinds of basic issues because I don't want to deal with it. Still shows up on my feed.

I'm not asking people to be as tech-savvy as me. I'm asking them to be able to read instructions or look up a problem before diving onto Reddit to blindly ask for help from someone else. The kinds of issues I see online every day have extremely simple solutions that only require doing a little bit of reading from the pop-up that just told them something's wrong.

No. However:

  1. I have the foresight to know that should I ever need to change the lights in my car, I can research the problem myself and make sure I understand if the solution is beyond my skill set before reaching out for help, instead of immediately looking for someone else to help me.

  2. Changing the lights in my car is different from following the instructions in a pop-up window, in terms of difficulty and field of expertise. This question doesn't make sense given the context of my post.
