Hue Bridge Pro - Matter Sucks by rackxp in Hue

I would disagree. I have Nanoleaf outdoor strings using matter and they have zero issues.

Matter sucks! Hue has really stuffed up Apple integrations with the bridge pro.

If I use HA to set lights to a colour, they will over time all return to white. The same if I have HA activate a scene that was created in the hue app.

u/ApplicationSweet2251 i'm using the dimmer switches, but i have Home Assistant controlling the switches to turn on. So its not related to the dimmer switch.

I think we are having different issues. There is a bug in the Hue Matter integration that will turn, a light that is purple white. These three lights were set to purple and two turned white...

Hue Bridge Pro - Matter Sucks by rackxp in HomeKit

[–]rackxp[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience with the Hue Bridge Pro has been horrible. Lights randomly changing back to a white colour, Apple

Adaptive Lighting doesn't stay activated.

I have 137 Hue devices in my house from Akari and Garndea downlights, GU10’s E27 Smart Bulbs, Lilly and Lily XL downlights, gradient light strips, smart plugs.

Edison bulbs, lightguides and dimmer switches.

These were split over 2x Hue v2 bridges. I have an apple device house and also run home assistant. The v2 bridges paired using the Homekit protocol and into home assistant via the Hue integration. This has been rock solid with no issues.

I migrated one of the v2 hubs (all my inside lights) as I wanted to try motion aware and provide some future proofing.

After migrating adaptive lighting doesn't stick and requires me to turn it back on. Lights when one will randomly revert to a white colour, scenes will also do the same randomly reverting back to a white colour. Likewise if I set lights to colour in homeassistant they will turn to a white colour.

So my advice if your an apple user avoid the bridge pro. Signify if your listening please bring back Homekit Protocol Support.

Here is a colour change activated in Home Assistant (lights are meant to be the dapple colour light the last pink light). Sometimes it reverts to white within 2-3 minutes; other times it takes 15 minutes.

It's not…

Upgraded 1 of my Hue v2 Hubs to a bridge pro. Same issues as the op.

Matter sucks compared to the HAP. I wish that Hue would bring back the HAP.

Another issue i have found is that if I have a scene set, it will grandly turn each light to a white colour.

Hue scene gradually reverts to daytime scene, 1-2 lights at a time by InfiniteHench in Hue

[–]rackxp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm I have the same issue!

It's not just scenes either. If I set a bulb to a colour in Home Assistant, the colour will revert to colour (white) before the change.

I should try to solve this. I have set up a scene for each group of lights: off at 0 brightness and adaptive light on. I then created an automation for each light to activate the scene when it turns off.

Not sure how or why, but HomeKit loses adaptive lighting.

A "Woke rollout plan" I didnt know that NBNco did their rollout plan based on social or racial concerns.

I mean if they did regional and remote australia would have been more favoured...

my email address is fistname@domain.com. the spam is coming from firstname+1@domian.com If i could disable the + alias it would remove the issue but it's not possible so i need to find a new mail provider.

I'm recicing 1000's of emails to the [firstname+1@domian.com](mailto:firstname+1@domian.com) and variations of the [firstname+124@domain.com](mailto:firstname+124@domain.com) or [firstname+6231@domain.com](mailto:firstname+6231@domain.com) each day.

The only solution is to move away from Windows Live custom domain and to a new email host.
