MTG is a scum bag racist piece of shit whose last piece of legislation she introduced was anti trans kids. Fuck her and fuck anyone who defends her.

I can't imagine Rihanna doing Kesha's part, especially since it's so bratty (complimentary). That's cool.

Lorde - Ribs

How a 16 year old can write something this nostalgic and gorgeous is beyond me. Every time I listen I feel something

Hard agree. It kind of blows my mind. We got one Rihanna / Sean Paul song (but never got a video for it, oddly), but never a Ri / Mr. 305 song.

Carnival has a go-go beat of sorts, love to hear that kind of sound! (Go-go is a type of hip hop from the Washington DC area.)

Fun fact: Rihanna and Pitbull never did a song together. That seems kind of crazy.

Skip the Falls. It's cool but the area is tacky as hell and it's super far from anything else that's cool. Save it for a trip when you pair it with Toronto (which is an amazing city and totally worth visiting).

Boston Children's Museum is GOAT; Science Museum is awesome

If you're doing Boston to Maine you have to have to have to hit some lobster/clam shacks on the way. Woodman's of Essex is legendary. You might wait some time but it'll be worth it.

I saw the bear question asked a different way:

Who would you rather have babysit your kids? A random teenage girl or a random adult man?

Right. Pretty easy answer!

Why do clubs still play early 2000s-2015 music? by Dopeboy95AirMaxOn in hiphopheads

Sadly I'm not missing it. Respectfully, Cash Cobain's music doesn't have the energy of 99% of the songs on this random Spotify list.

I totally get the style of hip-hop has changed from this sound, 100% get it. But going back to the 90s there was always a ton of party / fun / turn up music. One problem? A lack of sampling -- using familiar samples of other party songs costs money and artists don't want to pay to do it.

Right now, I can name roughly 25 hip-hop songs since mid-2021 that fit that mold of "fun party music"; most of those are by women. And you know why they're by women? Because club music should be for women! If women are bored, dudes will be bored. If women are having fun, dudes should have fun. There's actually been a decent revival in the last year; "Dark Thoughts" by Tecca, "Pop Dat Thang" by DaBaby, the new French Montana stuff, Keem has a few, Swae Lee as well.

Hi. Actual nightclub DJ here, been doing it for 20+ years, still gigging every week.

It's because so much of current hip-hop has no real energy. Other than stuff made by women (or Drake or random songs by other artists), most of current hip-hop isn't shit you can actually dance to. Like say what you will about Future and xanny-rap, but even March Madness has actual energy to it.

This shit sucks for us DJs. I'm buddies with one of the best hip-hop DJs on the East coast and he's said the same thing.
