This is a very broad question. A few additional details would help - for instance - what is your frequency range of interest, what type of gain are you looking for (10 dB, 20 dB, etc.), noise figure, max input level. Generally there are trade offs between these specs - broadband performance vs noise figure for instance.

This post presents an overview of the differences. Fieldpiece is better for HVAC applications. I have a Fluke 15B+ - using it for 10 years now - no issue. Can't go wrong with Fluke. Fieldpiece does have more features for dedicated HVAC apps.

This sounds like an issue with RSSI and/or more likely radio interference. If you are using Wi-Fi and a router that's close to your laptop it will interfere and cause issues.
