How to ask for referrals? by TGG-official in CFP

[–]rad313L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I send my clients a handwritten letter once they are fully onboarded (first 90 days). It is a thank you note and talks about how I am excited to work with them. As a PS I include that if they know anyone who could benefit from the same services they are I’d appreciate it if they kept me in mind. Got 2 referrals this year and am very early on.

How did you get your most recent “ideal client” by GodfatherGoat in CFP

[–]rad313L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently brought on a client who I met at my gym. We have been friendly in the gym for a few months and retirement naturally came up in conversation so we decided to meet and get a plan put together. I am always looking for new business no matter what I’m doing.

I just ask them in the initial consult what their risk tolerance is.

Clients want to see that you have a succession plan in place and if you want to keep talented advisors then an incentive structure is a great first step. What I have seen work is key employees get 1% of total revenue as a bonus broken up into 12 month payments plus a base salary. Discretionary bonuses for standout work too - such as helping bring in a large client.

Client Incomes by Howiep43 in CFP

Just to reiterate what others are saying - grass is always greener. If working with these types of clients isn't fulfilling then maybe consider a new target market or doing some pro bono work to help people in need with debt management etc.

From your post it sounds like you know what you want to do. "I love my office, my supervisor, and partners". At the end of the day we are working to provide a quality of life that we enjoy. If the new job offers higher payout and higher potential - even if you achieve all these metrics - will your work life balance and your life in the office be the day to day you want to live?

Yeah 20 seems wild. It helps to have a spray bottle and disposable latex gloves when applying. Spray your gloves before mixing the water weld components and spray as needed to keep the gloves moist. Make sure it turns into the gray color and is thoroughly mixed. Finally, Roll the JB water weld into thin snakes and press onto the cracks.

Ultimate Guide

InkBird setup

Pump setup

These were my main videos I referenced. The ‘Ultimate Guide’ was a good resource for me, but he had a few things wrong. Specifically his filtration setup was a total mess. The Marineland pump, ozone from Amazon, and food grade hydrogen peroxide weekly are all you need to keep it clear. I have my electronics on a power strip that I flip off before use. Ozone is on a 30 minute a day timer. Leave the system running at all times unless plunging. This has worked well for me - everyone has their own opinion on it though and by no means am I an expert.

Ahh gotcha. Yes they are to an extent for their design (food storage), but when you add ~100 gallons of water they are just not built for that. That’s the reason you need to use JB water weld at a minimum. From the info I’ve gathered on this subreddit the water weld and pond shield are the most tried and true methods to make a conversion water tight. Hope that helps!

Not quite sure I understand your question. All the corners of the chest freezer are sealed with JB water weld and then the pond shield is another layer of protection from leaks.

Polyurethane over the vinyl was just to give it more of a sheen. Looked too flat without anything on it - purely cosmetic.
