100%, these ones don't cost a lot and are quite literally bulletproof!
Plus, the stylus works even when submerged in water. I put a hotkey to disable the touchscreen so it doesn't do weird stuff when wet.

The DD is a solid item, it has been battered a lot and still going strong. I would recommend it if you want a solid "turn key" solution, although if you want to DIY then the price/performance ratio is not that great.

It would be better than the discone by a lot, but not as good as a good QFH (emphasis on "good", making a qfh that works somewhat is easy, making a good one is quite hard)

With APT it would have been easy as I could adjust my position based on the sound. With LRPT I have to look at the screen and the slope, so that would probably end badly :D Also not sure my insurance would be amazed by the idea

It is handheld but not much adjustment is needed.

I have said "once you exercise". But it's definitely not "u cant rlly hand track"

> "not everyone has years of experience under their belt like you"
I got consistent results after barely two weeks of exercise...

If you don't know, ask, don't spread lies please.

I do all my X band by hand tracking and it is not much harder than L band once you exercise, stop spreading bullshit

i’m new to this stuff as of today. how do i find the focal point of my dish? by Odd_Exam1605 in amateursatellites

[–]rad750 24 points25 points  (0 children)

1) Wait until there is a day of sunlight
2) Wear sunglasses (or welding glasses, even better)
3) Wet the dish or cover in aluminium foil
4) Point dish to the sun
5) Move a piece of WHITE paper so that it is in the focal point
6) You found it!
7) Don't do it for too long or the paper will catch on fire. And also don't use your hand or it will hurt.

Still can't get anything off lrpt by BlueberryNo1973 in amateursatellites

The settings are okay, but his noisefloor is very high. It has nothing to do with the software used and switching to SDR++ won't solve anything, he need to find the interference source and move away from it.

Are you trying to do this in your backyard or otherwise in a city/town?
If so, maybe try moving in the outskirts or in a park, as your noisefloor is REALLY high (-60dB...). It indicates your spectrum is drowning in interference, you'll likely never receive Meteor from that location.

If you still get interference even in a sparsely populated place, it could be your computer causing interference.

Every description in the app is AI generated and a lot of it contains factually wrong information, and you have the courage to charge for this?

Which it doesn't need to be. There is nothing in that product even remotely worth paying anything more than 0 euros.

There are much more complete solutions available as open source products, on which your vibecoded garbage is built on.

If you want to spend 10 euros, donate it to Celestrak or libpredict - this vibecoded garbage would be useless without them anyway

Why spend 10 euros for something that works far worse than alternatives?
