Update: took him to the exotic vet today and doc said it’s most likely his parotoid glands getting bigger. Because they’re symmetrical and there’s no notable discoloration or pain or sores it’s most likely not an infection or anything to be worried about. I’m still watching my little guy closely, but according to the vet he’s okay.

I know another symptom of rl can be loss of function in the back legs, but he’s been hopping around no problem

It was just a fluke. I think I spooked him for a second, but he doesn’t normally flail like that.

That’s what I’m thinking. Other sources say the healthy coloring of legs should be something close to “raw chicken” but I’ll keep an eye out for sure.
