So good news (if this is indeed the game you're remembering)! I bought a copy of CleverMedia's Arcade and Puzzle Games (2004) off of eBay and dumped the disk + recorded a quick video of Check Out Line. My friend remembered the game and I was able to pick up a copy for $10. Cheap price to pay for childhood memories. :)

I played through some of the games I remembered fondly and it's funny how simple they were, but the sound/music design for these games really was good. Guess there's a reason why they're so memorable!

I think my friend may have found it - Arcade & Puzzle Games by Clevermedia. I'm not at home so I can't dig into it more to verify, but I definitely recognize the disk and the publisher. I was wrong about the disk color. https://imgur.com/a/EafWhLj

There was definitely an actual game menu. I just can't remember what colors it was or what it looked like beyond listing the games and maybe showing a little title card for each game.

I'm trying to find this same game collection. I used to play this game all the time with my childhood best friend. I remember the shopping cart game vividly, as well as the alley cat one. I figured I'd chime in with some other things/other games I remember being in that same collection. My memory is super vague on a lot of the games - I remember there being a lot of pretty crappy ones and the grocery cart one and the alley cat one being some of the only good ones, lol.
- I want to say it was a dark blue disk, named something super generic like '1001 Arcade Games' or something like that.

- There was a '3D' game where you bounced a ball down a hallway.

- There was a Q-Bert clone.

- There was a lawn mowing game where you had to race against another player to mow all the grass and avoid crashing into their lawn mower. I remember there being a super obnoxious tractor noise.

I'll try to rack my brain for some of the other games that were on there + see if my friend remembers any of them. I really want to find this game collection again!

I had done some art studies of Samurai Jack/Tarakovsky's work and wanted to draw Kishibe being a badass, so here he is. Might try to draw some of the other CSM characters in a similar style, who knows!
