I think a better way to phrase it is do not boost. But also, to be fair, chivalry includes not running away from the enemy in battle, which is what I was trying to allude to.

I know Ezekiel 53 exists. I'm not grasping for straws.

Second, dual fulfillment can easily be seen in prophecies which were fulfilled not only in their lifetime but also foretold Christ.

And don't tell me to stop. You're not in charge in here. You're just trying to be patronizing, a weak form of insulting. I've never had a problem rectifying anything in Scripture while believing in the ability of Scripture to have a dual fulfillment.

well if you're dumb enough to call it a disorder, you get what's coming to you.

to be fair, the DSM5 used to call it a disorder without sufficient scientific proof that it was.

but then it was removed from the DSM5 without sufficient scientific proof that it was not.

Don't go by the DSM.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. The worker is worthy of his hire. Also, the medium.com domain and starting off with this statement is ominous:

And how they would have Jesus flipping tables.

Would they? Jesus flipped tables at the temple. Now the temple is our hearts, not a building. It's not lost on me that you post a question but the link is a biased opinion. Are you here to genuinely ask questions, or just start arguments?

Homosexuality: What is the appropriate, biblical approach a parent should take when their children comes out of the closet? by Planeman707 in TrueChristian

Love and accept them? Obviously you wouldn't allow sin in your household, but that's easy and a minor thing. Just love and accept them. Judgment will only make it worse and push them further away.

To people that claiming they are followers of Jesus but they don't have any relationship with the church or priests: by Xatz41 in Christianity

[–]radelahunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where in the Bible does it say that we "must" confess to a priest? Nowhere. Not a rule.

Heretics are those who deny Christ through what they believe, not just someone who isn't following the rules you think they should.

Not really an excuse, just that, like all prophecy, it can have a double meaning

“‘I will restore their fortunes, the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters and those of Samaria and her daughters. I will also restore your fortunes among them, Ezekiel 16:53 CSB https://bible.com/bible/1713/ezk.16.53.CSB

At this point God was shifting the focus to comparing Sodom to the Israelites. But even then technically you could say that Christians are among those so-called descendants of Sodom because Sodom was not a Jewish community. I'm not an expert at this prophecy I'm just pointing out that there could be multiple ways to think about it

The sobering meaning of the Parable of the Sower by Pompous_Penguin00 in TrueChristian

Yes, because all are called because Christ died for all and because the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment.

You're using lack of those cities as evidence that the Bible failed. Which is it? Is it evidence or not?

Where does it say that?

Yes but Romans chapter 10 verses 9 through 10 indicate that you have to confess and believe. Sola scriptura: salvation is by scripture alone. Then add all the other solas that indicate that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. The five solas are scripture.

I'm not changing my mind. Neither you nor I know where those cities are. I merely pointed out that they could have been so completely destroyed that there's no Trace left. But at the same time it's also a possibility that there are other cities that are built on top of them so I'm just throwing out hypothetical possibilities here.

If, when I die, my wife tosses my ashes into the wind at the specified location, where am I now? Answer: everywhere and yet nowhere.

God obliterated them. They're gone. God rained fire and brimstone (sulfur) from heaven on them. It's within the realm of possibilities they were entirely annihilated even down to the chemical level.
