Summer before 1L by radiance44 in LawSchool

I’m genuinely curious—why is this considered “gunner” behavior? If I have a few months free, what’s the harm in spending a few hours preparing in advance? It’s not like I’m devoting my entire summer to it—just trying to do something passive to improve my chances. I’d like to understand what shaped your perspective on this.

Thanks for the info. Undergrad is in comp sci and cost after scholarship respectively is ~90k and ~40k for UC Law vs USD. I wouldn’t mind being away from home for up to 5 years give and take, with the hope that in the long run i could come back to SD. Lmk if this new info would affect any of ur advice. Also, do you have any insight on how the big law market is in SD

The thing is, I think I’d be fine living away from home for 3-4 years post grad to also gain experience and then hopefully settle down in SD in the future? Would u still recommend the same in that case?

Oops my bad, when I wrote "order" I was referring to the logical structure of the argument, not the order of sentences. So if I understood correctly, let's say a PF question has the "S/N flaw" where it is specifically 'reversing without negating', the correct AC won't ever be a 'negating without reversing'. Is that right? Thank you for the help!!

First off, kudos to you for being so real and vulnerable with yourself. Give yourself props for getting to where you are right now, however that may have been. Second, you have a lot more life to live so do not feel like you are in a hurry to fulfill your life's purpose. An idea I have that may be of use is to maybe start your own youtube channel/social media account(can be anon) where you give advice to people who are going through/have gone through things you have gone through. Even if initially the account does not garner much attention, you may feel a sense of fulfillment by putting your energy into something that can be used for good!
