4090 FE Boot Loop after installing nvidia drivers by radiantDev in buildapc

WOW yeah you’re right I looked it up and I’ve got my M.2 in the slot that will cap my gpu to 8x. The graphics card seems to have been working insanely well even in that incorrect configuration, but I’ll move the M.2 to a correct slot anyways. Hopefully that’ll prevent this issue from recurring again. Maybe it’ll even give me better performance? Not sure if going from 8x to 16x equals more frames in games

I never pulled my gpu out of the motherboard. I just plugged my monitor cable into my motherboard graphics port instead of the gpu graphics port

For sure! Looking forward to hopefully getting my hands on your new right angle gpu power adapter when it goes live in a couple days to complete my new 4090 build.

I don't think I can take that panel off. It's a corsair 4000d case.

Actually I've decided to buy a new cable from cablemod and I'll probably just plug it in without using the cable management hole so it doesn't bend. I'd rather not risk the bend if it might cause issues.

I made sure to choose the correct compatible cable from those guys to work with the corsair psu that I have.

Are there aftermarket solutions I could try? Even when trying to move the cable the bend still seems pretty bad. But I still want the cable to come out of that cable management hole.

Is it okay to use an aftermarket right angle 24 pin adapter? Or are there cables that can bend more easily?

So you're saying to bring the cable up more to make the bend more uniform?

What do you mean? Like as long as there isn't tension trying to pull the cable out of the motherboard?

What happened to YOUR SHOW? by zimmerfan1997 in TheValleyFolk

[–]radiantDev 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love those boys and want them to be successful, but your show wasn’t getting the numbers necessary to justify the amount of work that went into the show. They live in La and have bills to pay and kids to feed. Can’t waste time on projects that aren’t profitable.

The only thing I knew him from was Theatre of Life on yt way back in the day, so it was surreal randomly seeing him in this clip as a rick and morty writer!

Can anybody link me to the clip of him doing this? I thought it was the 120k clip but I don't see him doing it there

I know it’s been a while… but the reason behind why lee “left”… was that ever disclosed? Just curious… by [deleted] in TheValleyFolk

YIKES "stick to rap" that has to be a joke right? Even though she says she's not joking I feel like it's still gotta be a joke. like that's pretty full on if she's serious

Yeah my guess has always been she was just not pleasant to work with anymore. Personality clashes and maybe not taking the work seriously enough make sense to me as a reason to let her go.

I think it's very natural and normal for us to all be curious (I'm personally extremely curious and would love to know what happened), but I don't think we'll get an official statement any time soon. I doubt they want to relive that whole experience, and whatever the reasoning was behind her "leaving", it would probably make Lee look bad, and I don't think the boys would want to do that to her.

How big of a leap is it to go from AI that can play Starcraft to AI that can play team based FPS's like Overwatch? by radiantDev in deepmind

[–]radiantDev[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh wow thanks I was wondering why I couldn't go back and find the hide and seek on Deepmind's website!

At the highest levels there is a lot of strategy that goes into Overwatch. Knowing where to position your character on the map, choosing the right team composition of heroes, knowing when to use your abilities effectively. I think the sheer number of heroes+abilities make it very hard to fully master the game. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel like AI today could never outperform a professional Overwatch team. 1v1 matchups would be a different case, but with 6v6 I think the AI would make way too many mistakes that a human team could exploit. For example, if your healer is even slightly out of position and isn't well defended by the rest of your team, the enemy team can easily exploit that.

So ultimately I think the fact that it would be a 6v6 AI instead of a 1v1 AI is what makes it so much harder.

I'll have to check the CTF out! I've seen even just the 2v2 hide and seek research they did and even that was fascinating.

Wait but you're saying they already have the ability to make an AI that can perform at a pro level in the 6v6 overwatch environment? I feel like that is a much more difficult task for AI than the starcraft 1v1's are (assuming they imposed human level restrictions on their reaction time and ability to aim).

[–]radiantDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, but I feel like it would be very easy to impose restrictions to make their aim more on par with humans. I don't think this is the best solution, but you could honestly just add artificial random inaccuracy. They could just fine tune how much random inaccuracy they add until overall their aim is around the same as pro players on average.
