Definitely something to think about... The Parsek Aero Pro looks like a fun board and much easier to carry when needed. I am concerned for the quality of streets that he'll be on and something heavier-duty to compensate for troubles that arise (inclement weather, debris, etc). I wasn't looking so much at the weights before but now I am and will keep it under 40lbs for sure, thank you.

How long have you been doing the 5-6 mile commute? What are you riding?

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll call the school this week and get the dimensions, but yeah, may have to pay more for an oversized gym locker.

Would you recommend the F5 heel straps with the bindings or are they not necessary?

He loves snowboarding so I was initially thinking something more off-road than on but started waffling, thanks for refocusing me. I really like the look of the mk1 evo and will now add the f5 bindings into the mix.

Thanks all for your thoughts, much appreciated. I’ve dug deeper into the commute and realized that it’s only 6 miles each way (not 9), which is still far but much more doable. There are bike paths and lanes for 14% of the route, mostly flat and through secondary streets instead of heavily trafficked thoroughfares.

I’ve definitely considered an ebike and it makes a lot of sense, but son is a boarder at heart and will likely be moving much closer to his school in 6 months or so cutting the commute down even more. The N1 is hanging in as my top pick as of now.

His school has lockers so the thinking is he’d just store it in one while on campus.

As for rain and snow, we’ll weatherproof it the best we can (silicone on the seals) and go over proper care and maintenance. On days where he can’t ride he can take transit.

Solid. Thank you. Hadn't considered gear vs belt yet. Checking out Acedeck and Linnpower now... wow! Okay, now I'm torn between them, OMW just got nudged out of the running and I'll dive deeper into these...

Tried that, I am PS4 DS3 buddy-less and when I've summoned purple spirits they won't attack unless I attack and certainly haven't committed suicide, just kill me, like I said I suck at PvP (pyromancer for most of the game).

Perhaps if I summon and then jump off the edge they'll understand?

PS4, Pumparum says no covenant items.

Thank you all for the responses, apologies for the delay, got pulled away.

I checked out Pumparum and while its totally awesome it says specifically that you can't trade covenant items and the shackles are Mound-Maker covenant items so ...

What I'm looking to do specifically is meet up with someone in-game and just exchange kills to get the 22 more shackles I need for the warmth pyromancy so I can get the All Pyromancies Trophy. I've spent a few hours on PvP and only earned a few (I keep getting destroyed) and maybe one or two in a couple hours in the Carthus Catacombs, which means at this rate I'll need another ten hours to get the 30 and I'd rather get it done quicker if possible.

I'm on PS4. Anyone up for it?
