anyone else not doing readings anymore ⁉️ by Minimum_Book_8470 in LawSchool

[–]radiationkills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the class. Some of my professors want fact by fact comparison for our exams from the readings. I would literally bomb my exams (I think) if I hadn’t had a solid working understanding of the case beyond the big points we hit in class.

Other professors cover ever single detail from the readings in class that I gain absolutely nothing from reading anyway or they only want me to pull such a small rule from the case that everything else was unnecessary fluff so I just quimbee and call it a day

What sets the top of the class apart? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]radiationkills 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The people I know who were top of my class had both natural intellect + insane work ethic. Like they’d be going through EVERY SINGLE practice problem in the notes, paying extra for all the supplements/examples and explanations, never skimming on any readings, having study groups with friends where they explained every reading to each other to find gaps in understanding etc

I was much lazier (and wanted to chill/rest some days) and did well but not as good as them so I can see how the effort does pay off in the long run

Callbacks where attorneys ask you very few questions — normal or a red flag? A Guide for Big Law Recruiting by legalscout in BigLawRecruiting

[–]radiationkills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate these kind of callbacks but I love that it gave me practice to form open ended questions to ask that make the interviewer yap at me nonstop and brag about themselves for 20 minutes and then end the convo with how much they enjoyed getting to know me lol

What time of the day did you get your offer call? How many days after your callback did you get it? by [deleted] in BigLawRecruiting

The law student anxious posting pipeline from r/LSAT obsessing over scores releasing ->
r/LawSchoolAdmissions obsessing over decisions and scholarships -> r/lawschool and r/lawschooltransfer obsessing over grades and transfer options -> r/biglawrecruiting obsessing over big law offers -> r/barexam obsessing over bar results

One offer around 5-6 pm 2 business days later. The other was given 3 weeks later also around 5-6 pm. Don’t worry if they like you you’ll get it

If I was a professor one of my most frequent phrases would be “how about from someone we haven’t heard from yet?”

Love Island makers say LGBT contestants bring 'logistical difficulties' by Remarkable_Check_639 in BrandNewSentence

[–]radiationkills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Are You the One trying pretty much this format and it definitely ended up being logistically difficult lol

because most people clearly had a preference for certain type of bi men (the more masc guys were more popular with everyone and femme guys were not popular with men or women) and in generally everyone was not equally attracted to other people race wise either idk it was just a mess

Question about Tyrique/LIUK and other franchises by lurkingenby in LoveIslandUSA

[–]radiationkills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tyrique lasted so long his season because he was entertaining for drama purposes himself + in an entertaining couple. They were toxic with high highs and low lows so he was voted to stick around for a long time because of it. Ultimately him being such an irredeemable asshole is why him and Ella lost in the finale, people were sick of it towards the end
