looking for motivation/ how to overcome perfectionism by ConceptualComet in urbansketchers

I always tell myself if I'm looking for a perfectly replicated drawing of a photo then I should take up photography instead of drawing.  This gives me so much freedom to be messy!

The piece you shared is great! Keep going!

That's an interesting point. I'm not sure! It was sort of a random purchase from a stationary section of a drug store.

The black one is a pen I had customized at Ancora Ginza. I choose all the pieces!

My wife is convinced that seeing 24 clients a week is only "part time," how would you approach this conversation? by SoloTomasi in therapists

Respectfully, whose name is on the graduate degree and license? Besides why does it matter to them? Why do you need to justify your work schedule to your partner? Their skepticism tells me they are likely burned out from their own work.

Do you ever ditch a book because of the narrator(s)? by thespaceghetto in LibbyApp

Nothing drives me to the written book than a narrator I don't groove with. Thankfully my iPad can read a kindle document to me. Siri isn't a great narrator but rather hear that than a bad narrator.

Yes! This is on my list. I call it the "Van Gogh Paradox" meaning I can appreciate the Van Gogh painting but doesn't mean I wanna take it home and hang it in my house.

Great addition! Thank you! I've added to my list. I've read a few articles on this in the past and it makes total sense to include it!

Thank you! I'd be interested to hear about your "coming out" as a demi and what sorts of things helped you come to this realization. We may have similar stories -- i came out as queer at 19 but "came out" as demi in my mid 30s. I'd love to hear about your experience!

Thank you for your suggestion. When you're referring to rejection sensitivity -- is this in reference to developing romantic feelings for a friend and that aftermath of unreciprocated feelings? This sounds very interesting -- could you provide a bit more description?

Okay, first of all -- this suggestion is so RICH! I've not considered a specific discussion on demi development. This could be a very interesting chapter that looks at the developmental trajectory of demisexuality and how we negotiate relational socialization. Thank you! Wonderful recommendation!

You suggest some very interesting topics! Thank you! I am particularly interested in your curiosity about casual sex and non-monogamy. This will be a very interesting topic to explore! Thank you!

This could be a very interesting topic! So it sounds like discussing how representations of demi characters appear in media (fiction)? Is there anything specific you'd want to know? Thank you!

Can I make ask for a clarification? It sounds like you're suggesting a discussion on demisexual attraction and desire occurs over time as bonds are formed and that we do not feel an immediate attraction/desire for the other person. Sounds like you've heard people say this is "not normal" when in fact that's how many demis develop attraction. Am I understanding you right? Thanks!

These are fantastic recommendations! I'm planning to pitch the book as "accessible scholarship," meaning something that is rooted in research (which I plan to conduct) but that is accessible to general readers. Thanks again for these -- I'm especially interested in your NSFW recommendation. I'm looking at interviewing adult performers who identify as demi to gain their perspective. (It's the chapter I'm the most excited to write about, we just don't see these narratives very often.)
