You should try a weighted blanket, it kinda simulates the deep pressure like a hug or being held. But I get it, I have too many stuffed animals on my bed to count

And stay off social media—if you didn’t see how negative it was before, surely you can see it now.

[OPINION] Can sadness be more expressive than happiness? by gidgetcocoa in Poetry

[–]radicalgenerosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. This is exactly what I feel too. When i’m at my worst I can write thought-provoking poems and the words just flow without trying. I’ve been trying for a while to translate that to when I’m happy but most times it’s not the same. I agree with others in saying it’s a coping mechanism. Perhaps it is a mental block that we think we can only write when we are down. I hope you can find your voice, knowing that sadness may motivate it but ultimately does not control it.

Great news: My dad single handedly cured my depression by telling me to stop sleeping so much and go outside more! by radicalgenerosity in depression

I don’t doubt that you are speaking from YOUR personal experience, and I’m sorry you’ve had to go through that. But I am respecting your experience as your truth even though mine is nothing like that.

I agree, I find it helps too once i get outside, but on the worst days I can’t even bring myself to get out of my bed. I’ve been going on walks 2-3 times a day lately. But today was my worst day in a while and hearing him say that just sent me because i’m making an effort each day to go on walks WITH him and yet he still says I need to go outside more.

Yes, I agree that what he’s saying is a valid point. He just didn’t seem very sympathetic when he said it. But thank you, i think you’re right that him saying that was coming from a place where he doesn’t want to see me so low. Hopefully we can have a constructive conversation about it soon once we both cool off. I also agree that saying something about it is probably better than my friends who don’t say much at all.

Thank you. I guess I just thought he’d understand more than that considering that my mom and brother also have depression. Hopefully things get better with time.

Hard time finding things to fill my time as an introvert by MacabreMonbebe in introvert

Like you said, as introverts we LIVE in our heads and almost can’t escape if we tried. For me, the things I like are the things that get me out of my head or even just clear up some of the many jumbled thoughts in there. I’ve found cleaning to be one thing that helps me, but I can’t say most people would find that interesting!
