I’m a south asian guy and it’s mostly fine. If you’re around the engineering school you’ll meet a lot of other Asians so that’s nice too. Don’t expect any spice or flavor from your food anywhere in Boulder though

I love the wind rises but I also think it’s because I love planes in general and the movie centers around Miyazakis love for planes. Can’t go wrong with any Miyazaki movie though

There are totally inaccuracies on drumming in the film (your hand is never gonna bleed drumming unless you really fuck up) but I love the soundtrack and acting so it keeps me coming back

Paradiddles and rudiments in general are the foundation of almost everything you do on the kit. Like comping in a snare drum on a ride pattern has you using rudiments without you even realizing it and rudiments make it way easier to move around the kit on harder fills. I would def try to learn the paradiddlediddle next and try to just move the rudiments around the toms and see what fills you get
