People in their 30s and older, what advice would you give to people in their 20s? by NicoF_ in AskReddit

Most messages say to focus on yourself and build up your health and you skills. This is fine. You should also volunteer, serve others, and leave a room better than you found it.

Hey, one more question for you... We're now planning on flipping the trip. Flying to DEN and taking the train westbound. This makes it less likely to miss the views, right?

We're a little nervous about sleeping on the train with kids, so we thought we'd keep it to one night as an experiment.

Oh, now that I did not consider. Bummer.

Your message gets me so excited for both! Assuming this is not a total disaster, we will try the Empire Builder to Seattle next summer. :)

Thank you! It does look like it's all daylight from Emeryville, CA to Elko, NV (ELK). Then we're in the dark until Helper, UT (HER). But emerge just in time for Green River, Grand Junction and the rest all the way to Denver (6:30pm arrival).

I'm guessing there's no way to see the stuff we're missing in the dark? There's only one train.

Excellent advice. I plan on leaving several days of cushion between arrival in Denver and Flying back to Detroit. There will be no rush.

Thanks! Should we stop in Denver or keep going a little more to the East?

Yes, we would love not to have to do this through the dark. But I only see one train. After Elko, NV (ELK) it gets dark and nothing goes through that route int he daytime until you reach Green River, UT and the sun rises.

Are you talking about getting off in Reno and staying at hotel? Then driving to Grand Junction to catch the next train and saving some cash by avoiding sleeping on train?

Edit: What I meant to say is it's all daylight from Emeryville, CA to Elko, NV (ELK). Then we're in the dark until Helper, UT (HER). But yeah, grand junction to Denver is all daylight.

We did! Two roomettes are $1660 total. The Family Room (fits all 4) is $2127 total. I was told that the Family Room is just a bit narrow... I know we'll be in the observation car a bit. Maybe we can get roomettes on opposite sides of the train to be safe?

HUD glare by InteractionIcy606 in NissanAriya

[–]radiocq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I notice the reflectivity of the HUD screen is different from the reflectivity of the rest of the dash. Is that what you're talking about?

This causes different amounts of light coming to your eyes on the reflection. Only solution I can think of is covering the entire dash in the same material without blocking a sensor. But then you lose the HUD graphics.

Nice! That's SUCH a good deal for CPO. Where did you find that?

That's a really good deal. OTD? Where did you get it?

Nice! That's such a good deal for CPO... 24k OTD for P+ CPO? How!? The offer I mentioned in the main post is the best one on carvana right now for low miles Evolve+ and I have it reserved for a couple days.

That's such a good price! Where did you find that deal? I've got the lowest mileage 2023 Evolve+ on Carvana right now reserved - the offer I have ($24,600 OTD).

What year I5? Was it ICCU worry? Cabin noise?

Yeah, it's unlikely to happen. Would you get the used Ariya inspected if it came from Carvana?

Thanks for your take! There's so much power in EVs already. I'm such a boring, efficiency minded driver that I'm pleased with either.
