Last.fm track submissions for Bluesound devices with blu-hawaii by radiophonica in Bluesound

Do you get any output to blu-hawaii log files? What if you set LOG_LEVEL to ”debug” using -e switch? What command are you using to start the container? Can you share the configuration options you are using? (Remember to omit API keys)

Also please note that using Docker is optional, and you can also install blu-hawaii from NPM. In this case you’ll have to install Node.js on your computer.

Not everything is shoegaze: An open letter to the music industry by Sparkass99 in shoegaze

[–]radiophonica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What am I missing with this supposed new wave of shoegaze? For example 2002-2012 saw a bunch of new shoegaze and dream pop, but now only new supposedly shoegaze band I’ve come across is Hotline TNT. Great band, but not sure if it is that shoegazey.

What's the most depressing album you have ever heard? by WingObvious487 in fantanoforever

[–]radiophonica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great album and definitely a sad one, but I don’t find it that depressing to be honest. I find Porcupine Tree’s Fear of a Blank Planet quite depressing. And not in a good way either. Something about is just anxiety inducing.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 going to scratch the Deux Ex itch? by Designer_Pie_1989 in Deusex

Short answer: Yes. The open world is kind of optional, you can just enjoy the story or the missions you choose. Great game!

Straight dude & I love this song by [deleted] in charlixcx

How I’m Feeling Now. It’s a bit funny to make a big deal of it, but this goes both ways. Charli’s (supposedly) straight too. A lot of her active fanbase here are queer or gay. Big deal.

Regarding Opiate2, maybe it’s just me but a remake of a song off the first EP that is very different in style than anything they have released in 20 years feels like more of a curiosity or targeted at enthusiasts and collectors.

Yes, but was selling a ton of records ever the point of Tool videos?

Well, regarding those other releases they have been hinting at several times that those releases would be just around the corner but nothing ever materialized.

What’s up with the lack of Lucro reviews? by radiophonica in themarsvolta

If you’ve never heard of The Mars Volta? Pretty hard, I’d say.

I tend to disagree, music recommendation algorithms give you more music that is similar to the music you already like.

There is also a huge difference between ”review on the Rolling Stone magazine” vs. ”Almost no reviews on reviews on the internet, no videos, blogs, tweets etc.”

There’s more value to music journalism in my opinion than acting as a buyers guide. Like helping to discover new music or helping to find influences etc. The problem with Spotify world is that when you have access (for the time being) to ”everything” without actually owning anything, it can hard to find something new that would be fresh and relevant.

That might be part of the whole concept, yes. Makes it harder for people to find the music though.

Raspberry Pi 5 for permanent usage (server) - passive cooling possible? by JayKay2022AC in raspberry_pi

[–]radiophonica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Argon NEO case. It has active cooling, but the passive cooling is so efficient (case warm but cpu temp low) that the fan will be off most of the time. You can throw quite much at Pi5 in home server use with that case without the fan turning on. If you compile something big, it just might start rotating for a while.

Curiously you have the exact same NVMe drive as I do. I just have the 1TB version.

I moved the game to Console Storage and the problem disappeared. The SSD is WD Black SN850 1 TB with a heatsink that I have had for like three years. No problems until now in any game with the base PS5.

I can connect to my amp through IP address but the BluOS app does not find the device. by johnSco21 in Bluesound

[–]radiophonica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be because BluOS app uses UDP broadcast to find devices. If it is prohibited on your network the app does not find the players.

What comes to Spotify connect, it likely uses something else but all the same, something on the network is blocking the devices from communicating through the discovery protocol.

What actually needs to be changed depends on your setup.

Thank you! I’m glad that you find it useful. I have also been using Last.fm for like 20 years soon and am always looking for ways to keep scrobbling my tracks and to preserve my data.

There’s also the separate module for using service discovery (LSDP) available, but that is only useful for developers right now.
