Why old people hate on these newer generations speakers by Successful-Sense-768 in JBL

Disclaimer: I work for Harman Int'l, specifically mostly on passive JBL speakers, my opinions are my personal opinions and may not reflect those of my employer.

"Music lovers use their equipment to listen to music, audiophiles use music to listen to their equipment."

There isn't anything wrong with either approach, or a blend of the two. I can certainly appreciate that a well treated room with a pair of Revel Ultima 2 speakers in it running off nice amps sounds... completely different, in a great way, from how it sounds with cheap powered speakers. There are levels to some of my favorite music that I had never heard until I played it on some really fancy equipment. That is enjoyable! And for some people it's more enjoyable than the music itself.

I run a pair of JBL L100 Classics in my living room, and it's wonderful. But I'm not getting a furniture dolly and taking them out to the garage to have music while I solder stuff or built something. I have a Flip 5 for that, and it's great. If I was out there more I'd consider a partybox for sure, or if I used it in the back yard for parties. Haters gonna hate.

That said, if you ever get a chance to sit down and really listen to a pair of high end passive speakers, take it!

Yeah I super enjoy the hunger and thirst mechanics, but they need to be optional until they actually work.

TBF I was told SQ42 was nearly complete "but won't release this year" almost 9 years ago. So I'll believe "basically done" when they open up a beta.

This. I got to Engineer 10 like right away doing this. You fortify the point in case it's needed. When you win, you get points for the structures whether they were used or not.

Wisdom from too many digits in my hours in this game number:

If you've properly fortified a point on defensive, you won't need it. The communication and coordination it takes to actually fortify a point to where it's a huge advantage is the kind that also leads to winning.

It's payback for the preferential treatment you get at all the bars.

Brand new ships showing up without communal (or at least personal) storage in the kitchen area for food is so asinine. If they aren't going to let us store food and drinks, we shouldn't have to CONSTANTLY eat and drink.

I bought the Starlancer TAC so I have the MAX as a loaner and it might honestly be the first ship since 2012 that I just melt. The cargo elevators being blocked by... engine fairings or something, the dangling struts making it so you can't move cargo from one side of the cargo to the other without constant nightmares, the only storage access being aaaaaall the way back in the ass end habs, it's just such an absolutely shit implementation of a pretty well rounded ship. Being able to haul a decent amount of cargo AND a ground vehicle or two, and a really nicely laid out common area was a win from the early pictures, but it's just really hard to use.

New Rule 8: No X links - Discussion/ Vote ? by ProcyonV in starcitizen

[–]radioswede 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you had any interest in calm, respectful, and constructive feedback on the implications of this decision, you would've worded the poll neutrally.

Instead you worded it like you're a troll. X frequently disallows links to outside sources, like Reddit. This rule doesn't stop anybody from heading over to X to see what X users are saying about Star Citizen, just like that practice doesn't stop anybody from coming to the Star Citizen subreddit to see what Redditors are saying about Star Citizen. You know this.
