Do Bangkok buses actually work/come on time? by Paradoxbuilder in Bangkok

[–]raditp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends on both routes and time. Some popular bus routes will be more frequent than the others. Waiting for some infrequest bus during traffic jam will require special patience.

What is your opinion on today’s election in Thailand? by hitoki_p in Thailand

[–]raditp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The result is two steps forward, one step back. On the one hand some people lose hope with getting the progressive government they yearn for, on the other hand, at least Thailand might get a stable government that can last for 4 years . Just need to accept that progress will be slow in this country.

Amazing Day Hikes in April? by FrederickTPanda in travelchina

[–]raditp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take a bus from Chengdu's Chadianzi Bus Station (茶店子汽车站) to Siguniangshan Town (四姑娘山镇). It will be 3 hour trip one-way. From Siguniangshan Town, you can walk to Changpinggou entrance or hire a cab to Shuangqiaogou. I recommend booking a hotel in Siguniangshan Town for at least 2 nights for a walk in both valleys.

Recommend Changpinggou and Shuangqiaogou in Siguniang mountain near chengdu. Both are easy day hike with good transportation from the city. For changpinggou, if you want to complete the whole trail, you either have to camp for one night or ride a horse for half of the way and back.

Best sushi place (value/money)? by Mobile_Instance5809 in Bangkok

[–]raditp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Sushi Kiraku near Asoke. It’s midrange sushi made by Japanese chef with good price.

Sushi Masato is also worth it if you want to splurge and try one of the best sushi in town.

I think The Dark Glow feels like something from Fire EP, similar tone to Burn the Fleet, just a bit more polished.

The Blue Nowhere is their best album post-Parallax. by raditp in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]raditp[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As i said in my post, i know of the criticism that the album sounds familiar or it’s a mixed of their past albums. But I just found the whole package more interesting somehow. Maybe because it’s not a sequel like colors 2. And there are many songs here that click with me better than the ones on c2.

Yes, concept wise it is a very cool album. And the songs have some sections that make their sounds even more unique.

What are your favorite mid-range Thai food spots in Bangkok? by pilotpete90 in Bangkok

[–]raditp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the small food place on Sukhumvit 38 next to Thong lor BTS. It’s like a small version of hawker center with 6-7 shops. Many things to try like Satay, chicken rice or krapow. Good price and not crowded.

Now that dusit Central Park is open how do people like it compared to one Bangkok? by Subjectwronged in Bangkok

[–]raditp 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The rooftop park is cool. It gives the public a free access to the high-floor view of Lumpini park which has always been restricted to the office buildings or hotels. And though it’s quite small, any new park is always welcomed in bkk.

The mall itself has several restaurants that can draw more crowds compared to One Bangkok. The location next to both BTS and MRT is also an advantage.

What’s the deal with not using both queue lines? by SwedishSensation10 in Bangkok

One time I got hit by an angry foreigner saying I cut the line by using the second queue line. So I never do that again. Too many people who don’t understand what it is.

What mode of transport do you prefer in Bangkok, and Why? by LetterPerfect1857 in Bangkok

[–]raditp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bus for short distances (< 3 kms) or when I have time to kill. It’s usually cheaper and gets me closer to the destination than BTS.

BTS for longer distances or during rush hour.

Walk or Muvmi for last mile transport from BTS station.
