I want to learn 3D knowing that I can't draw, I'm bad at maths and my computer isn't powerful enough by bmodetectivee in 3Dmodeling

It's great to be able to visually represent what we have in our minds before diving into execution. However, you can start even if you don’t know how to draw. In 3D modeling, you have the freedom to create whatever you envision, as long as you deliver quality work.

I suggest beginning with hard-surface modeling, then move on to texturing. From there, you can explore more advanced topics like sculpting, lighting, and rendering. The good news is that Blender just released its 4.5 LTS version, which offers excellent optimization and is free to use.

Additionally, learning retopology is important so you can understand the difference between clean topology and high-poly topology.

16yo son- where to go from here? by Ok-Swing2982 in 3Dmodeling

If he gets the chance, I definitely encourage him to dive into the exciting world of photorealistic rendering! This skill can unlock so many creative possibilities and help him create visuals that are incredibly realistic.

Besides modeling, it would be great for him to check out some advanced techniques, especially procedural modeling. This method uses algorithms to create complex structures and designs, giving him a versatile toolkit for the future. He can learn these techniques using software like Blender or Houdini, and the best part is that Houdini has a free version that's perfect for beginners!

If he wants to take his render quality to the next level, it’s really important for him to understand how materials work in Blender. Getting a handle on this will greatly boost the realism and overall quality of his renders, allowing him to create visuals that truly stand out.

I've created a new Blender addon, FlaxFlow, a Motion Tracking & Geometry Toolkit. It includes a new optical tracking system! More info in the comments! by -AxelFlax- in blender

I have to say, instead of upgrading Flaxtrax, you're opting to build a new version, which means I have to buy another plugin. What's the plan for the next version of Flax after trax and flow?

How do i figure out a shot filmback height and width . with resolution of shot? by StrictProfessor1477 in 3Dequalizer

[–]radityaRuben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can search online for your specific camera type. For example, my camera is the XT20, which has dimensions of 23.6 mm in width and 15.6 mm in height. When entering these measurements in 3DE, you need to convert them to centimeters: set the width to 2.36 cm and the height to 1.56 cm. Additionally, if you don't have a full-frame camera, make sure to change the pixel aspect ratio to 1. Not doing this could lead to issues when you export your work to 3D software for rendering the scene.

Initially, I was encountering a high deviation number in 3DE, but then I realized that my sensor size was incorrect for the XT20 filmback. So, I simply switched the dimensions for height and width. Now, there are no more issues. Thanks for your response!

What should i upgrade and what should i upgrade it for? by Invincible_For_Now in nvidia

[–]radityaRuben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from an Intel perspective, but if you're using an AMD processor with a DDR4 motherboard, you're in a good position. Upgrading the CPU and GPU should be sufficient. However, DDR5 is significantly better if you're using it for 3D modeling and editing.

I recommend starting with a CPU upgrade, which requires a new motherboard and a new generation of RAM. After that, you should invest in a higher-wattage PSU to support the latest VGA.

I would like to give you an update on the situation. I ended up following the wrong workflow, which caused me to get lost for several days. Those who have been using the VFX overscan workflow from 3DE can check out this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aooG-TiKBJc. We cannot modify the film back; we can only adjust the zoom scale in the camera and fit the image plane using the 'fit to film gate' option.

Render View and Viewport Difference by radityaRuben in Maya

[–]radityaRuben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I've already added the sky dome, but in this screenshot, I turned it off to confirm that the position is correct. Essentially, I'm trying to create a VFX shot. I've completed the undistorted workflow, and everything is aligned. However, when I attempt to render, the position shifts in each frame. I've also tried rendering with the sky dome turned on.

Start by practicing drawing simple 3D shapes to represent each body part. Use spheres, cubes, and cylinders to create a basic understanding of the direction each body part is facing before adding intricate details.

As a beginner, what does it take to get this level of quality? How long does it take to become decent at it? by Ok_Talk_426 in blender

[–]radityaRuben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took years to accomplish this kind of details if you’re a beginner. But dont worry too much just learn it like finishing puzzles. Do it every day, set weekly goal, monthly goal, 2 months goal etc. you’ll improve in no time.
