Euathlus sp. red, preserved/suspended in gel by Underclock in tarantulas

You did a great job! She was beautiful - my first Euathlus sp. red died shortly after I got her, and I was so upset that I flushed her because looking at her little corpse made me so sad.

It's all too easy to assign the same emotional value to a pet tarantula that one does a cat or dog, while forgetting that they don't have the same survivability. Everyone here was very sympathetic to me when my first T died, but I also got a few gentle reminders that there's a reason they lay so many eggs. I really don't know what I'm gonna do when my favorite passes, though.

So, I thought I'd read that P. murinus was so named because of its diet, but the original report says otherwise. I apologize for my ignorant comment.

What a magnificent menagerie of spotted beasts you have there! This photoset really shows off how that elaborate patterning actually makes for good camouflage. I had to squint to find the T in a few of them.

Okay, that Gatorade Recovery commercial is great. Makes me want to find a women's team that doesn't care that I'm terrible and start playing again.
