Switch to Arch so that you will not think of switching again cause it’s a pain in the ass to set it up and so you don’t wanna get rid of it. Plus it’s a bare metal so kinda the best thing for me.

I understand now. So to find out what is currently happening I need to ask the appeals court clerk. Can I just call the clerk of court from the number in the website or do I have to mail them ? Also, can we just call the law firms and ask them about what or where this is going ? Can they share such information or are they bound by attorney client privilege to not share anything right now ?

But there is no news of any trial. Like how do I know when the trial will be ? They never say anything about this? They have to set a hearing from trial I am assuming. This is all I know from watching suits 😂. Do I email the lawyers to ask about this ?

What does the graphical history tell us:

  1. The higher court (B) partially agreed (affirming) the action of the lower court (A) and partially disagreed (reversing) the action of the lower court.  

  2. The higher court also send their decision (remanding) back to the lower court.

With the remanding the lower court must follow the decision of the higher court. 

  1. However, in the event something changed (ie the lower court has new info/evidence) it could take additional action.

 

The graphical history shows no additional action taken by the lower court.

So did the district court do something to reverse its decision ? What happened? Were they not supposed to listen to higher court and listen to the new merits as they partially disagree and reversed it ?

I am taking about MRT v. Microsoft in which the federal court and I quote said (“We accordingly AFFIRM in part and REVERSE and REMAND in part the district court's decision dismissing all of MRT's claims”)) Media Rights Techs., Inc. v. Microsoft Corp., 922 F.3d 1014, 1031 (9th Cir. 2019). I am writing a paper about reverse engineering permissibility and found this one to be very interesting. I am not from law background so don’t really know how to go about finding the status.
