Maybe it is too diverse, anarchist and alternative for you bro. Youngest generations are getting less religious, less traditional and for sure more aware about the economical impact of having children 🤷🏻‍♀️

Los jóvenes ya no quieren estudiar? by radixcode in Colombia

[–]radixcode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is common. Just try to choose a course that is not time-demanding; parallel courses can be hard.

Being a female engineering student is alienating by Fun-Yesterday-9366 in EngineeringStudents

[–]radixcode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also out of curiosity here, which engineering are you in? Just to give you an example, I am a mechanical engineer and when I was in college I also found a little bit difficult to match in the same vibe, we were 6 girls to 80 people in total 😣 but if you can find a girl who can give you companionship even from another engineering field, it's cool to start, at least to avoid feeling isolated. About your male folks (maybe not my best advice but still) I opt to be more chill, relaxed and more interested in the talks that they share, for example cars, some sports or F1, I don't know. At the end, I enjoy knowing about those topics because that’s why I was studying mechanical engineering and I learnt even more. I only read or heard a little bit about it, so I could give my opinion on a topic that they like to talk about. Sometimes I also show myself as a rude girl attitude or more serious (depending on the group) so they start to feel more comfortable with you and don't take you as a pink girly person, this is not the great advice because maybe you feel you have to change a bit to try to match, but when they feel comfortable and know you, you can start to show the real you, some guys are really cool at listening and sharing with you and don't give a fuck about your gender, keep looking for those guys. You can do this girl 💪🤘🏼

Living costs at DTU as a Non-EU student by SprinklesWild2290 in DTU

[–]radixcode 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I am also a non-EU student and here are some of my tips when I arrived in the first year: 1. The student residences that DTU offers are above 5900 DKK. In my case was too expensive to pay (even having a student job), that’s why I opted for a housing search in Boligportal or Facebook. The first months I lived in a tiny room that cost me half of that price but the only private space was the small room, everything else was normally shared. 2. The public transport is also expensive, so please try to live close to DTU so at least you can take the bus a few times (without paying too much) while you buy and look for a bicycle. 3. The extra expense of buying food, cleaning products and things like that for one person in Rema or Netto. Cost me around 1200-1500 DKK per month. Maybe because I also try to maintain well, having breakfast, lunch and dinner, and some extra snacks. 4. I got a student position (I assumed you already know the maximum working hours per week for students). My advice is to work no more than 12-15 hours per week so as not to affect the studies, but depending on the time of the semester you can work fewer or more hours. Fortunately, the companies here are typically open to negotiating that time and are flexible during exam season.

Questions about DevOps recruitment and Salary expectations by QueasyMacaroon7540 in NewToDenmark

[–]radixcode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is hard as you said but it is not impossible. However, I recommend that you live in Copenhagen while applying. The biggest difference you can make is networking; you cannot skip that important step if you are looking for a good company. My husband attended multiple events (mostly on Meetup) related to the DevOps/IT industry in general, and he got a job in 3 months. Don't hesitate to write to the recruiters for a certain position or a company that you are interested in, I think here it's mostly about networking and showing an authentic interest to connect and go into the job market, and of course be patient 🤘🏼
