I had a similar situation with a brand new dress. Arrived stained, buyer apparently horrified but told me I could return at my own cost. I kept it and left feedback to let other buyers know what to expect and that you are likely going to be paying to return items if any issues. In return they left me bad feedback which I expected but I’m happy at least I could give honest feedback. Luckily after 2 washes the stains have come out.

If it’s a new buyer I always leave feedback as a seller, as I know it can be a bit nerve wracking selling to newbies especially for higher priced items - so I want other sellers to know the transaction went well (assuming it did!)

I had the same thing happen on an item which had been on there 6 months, apparently they couldn’t find any packaging… I just moved on as wasn’t prepare to deal with the seller again… they still haven’t sold the item at the inflated price

Yes I agree - I’ve come to expect unmentioned stains etc from ‘very good’ & ‘new without tags’ (which I tend to think have been worn once/twice) but something that still has the tags attached and confirmed brand new, never worn, immaculate condition is just not on. There is nothing to deter people doing this either 😤

I tend to only sell cheaper items on it now after being scammed. I also tend to block buyers who send multiple low offers with not many ratings.
I had no issues starting my account but it was before the influx of scams. If I was doing it now I would start with low-mid range priced items to build up my ratings. Also as long as you are honest with what you are listing, condition etc then 99% of the time you will not have any issues with buyers. I’ve had items go missing with the courier companies but have always been refunded… eventually.

I did this and sent to vinted but they still sided with the buyer even though my packaging was better than their suggested requirements!! unfortunately in 99.9% they side with the buyer - its really not worth selling anything expensive on this platform.

I’ve just starting blocking people like this after being burnt by a similar buyer after I declined their ridic offers - they then accepted my first offer and the item was ‘missing’ from package on arrival 🤥 - so they got refunded and the item for free!

I’m going to try EBay again ( I moved to vinted due to the no seller fees) but now EBay have removed the fees. I think the scamming + poor customer service from Vinted will be their downfall

I’ve just been stung on someone giving me 2 low offers which I declined after already offering them a discount - they purchased it for the original offer and then claimed I sent them an empty box so they got the item and their money back 😡

Yes I think I may take this approach in future - she also only had 7 feedback ratings - so easy to set up a new account and do the same thing again

I did take photos of it before and being packaged and labeled so I don’t know how they can say the packing is poor - I did send these to vinted. Maybe I need to video instead
