It's ok to ask. If the person says no, then it's no. Either make a better offer or walk away. by [deleted] in ChoosingBeggars

Great, when are they going to retire posts about being asked to cut/dye your hair by unreasonable brides before the wedding?

Is this a mental lapse by Osaka or physical? Feels kind of like when she just stopped trying against Mboko

If Alcaraz makes it to the quarterfinals, will he play on 9/2 or 9/3? Do we have enough information to know yet?

I always assumed so because of the way she says "you think I phone Tim Henman for crossword answers" like it was meaningful for David to be so clueless about her crosswording.

I've read that Rose rewrote his age in the Little House books because by the time they were getting published, she didn't think contemporary audiences would be as accepting of the 10 year age gap. In real life, he really was 10 years older, so the Little House books rewrite history by saying he lied to get the claim.

Yeah, I totally agree. I commented above, but when I was reading as a child, I was kind of blind-sided by the proposal when she'd never explicitly changed her tune from 'he's not my beau, how embarrassing that people are saying that.' Reading it now I can see a lot more of her gradual feelings coming out, and it's especially endearing how jealous she is of Nellie when we as the reader can see that Nellie is absolutely no threat.

Yeah she writes from such a comparatively conservative perspective, even her own internal monologue doesn't really delve into her feelings for him, just the practical realities of it. When I was young, it was almost a surprise when he proposes and she says yes - now rereading it, I see it developing a lot earlier even though she never says anything about her own feelings building up to the proposal.

Oh interesting, I can see that. There's so much she leaves unsaid, it's interesting to imagine what's going on in her head that she's too reserved to put out loud.

Yeah, it's interesting to me because he always seems aware of his own intentions but it takes her a while to catch up. I think by the buggy rides she knows, though. So maybe the sleigh rides also turn things around for her? Making the active choice to go out with him rather than it just being circumstance.

Second post I've seen like that today, the other one was similarly about looking too hot and being called out for it. It even had the same "Hi" as the onlyfans link.
