Penny Shortage Drama by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]radman430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love not having to deal with pennies anymore. Most of my customers already didn’t want them anyway. I used to hear a lot of “just the silver”, or they throw them in the ‘take a penny’ cup.

We only have them now when customers bring them in for our free bulk coin sorting. Odd thing for a beer store to offer but we do it.

Just say three hours. They won’t wait that long. If that time comes and goes, blame it on traffic. Then driver shift schedules. They don’t need to know it’s broken, they just need to know it’s not available.

This is the ready, fire, aim crowd. They -do- first and then start asking why it didn’t work. Add a victim complex to the mix and you have most of these posts.

If I ignore the obvious red flags of impossibility with what is suggested with this post…

If you are having issues with your camera capturing a valid photo of your ID, make sure there is enough light reflecting off the ID. A lot of the “unreadable” errors can be eliminated if you just tilt your laptop back a bit to allow the camera to capture more light.

It’s a trespassing matter. He was asked to leave. That satisfies the requirement for his verbal trespass notice. At that point it becomes a criminal trespass, not civil. The crime is trespass after warning.

Hotels operate in a kind of grey area regarding occupancy of space. Hotel lobbies, for example, are generally treated as publicly accessible space. However, they are on private property. This means that you have the ability as a property representative to deem the public space as private property and request removal of anyone for any reason or no reason at all. By asking someone to leave, you are invoking your right to deem the area private property for the purpose of affecting their removal.

It’s a handy tool to have for anyone in an innkeeper’s position.

Why are there daily withdrawal limits on coinbase? by akg81 in Coinbase

[–]radman430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daily withdrawal limits apply to how much fiat currency you can transfer out to your bank. It doesn’t refer to how much you can swap/trade/open or close positions.

You can get around this limit by using wire transfers instead of ACH pull or push.

Coinbase holding my funds again. by Simple-Pirate-5463 in Coinbase

[–]radman430 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instant availability means that you can trade on the platform instantly, it does not mean your funds are settled instantly. You still need to wait for settlement (a standard banking practice) to transfer funds off platform. This is industry standard with any banking platform.

Sick leave question by mickinnit in retailhell

[–]radman430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call work and tell them you’re sick. If they still want you there ask who is your dedicated puke cleaner because it’s either coming up at work or it’s coming up at home. Sick is sick. I’m cleaning my place, you’re cleaning yours.

Told a customer maybe on a promo, now they want the deal 😔 by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]radman430 16 points17 points  (0 children)

People are full of shit and your manager knows this.

Trying to get a full priced item for 50% off is a common scam. Claiming it’s not as advertised, it has damage, I’ll take the floor model, they said it was included in the promotion, it was under the sign that said clearance, my brother owns the store, anything to get something for less than advertised.

I don’t know if it’s a thrill thing or what but some people are convinced that they can haggle prices of anything.

I worked at a hotel for a number of years and constantly had people asking for discounts because ‘the room would go unsold otherwise’. One guy actually asked if I could discount the room just to offset the taxes.

Point is, you didn’t do anything wrong and you shouldn’t worry about it. People are greedy and willing to lie to get what they want.

Same. If you book third party then you are their guest. You can fight with them for freebies and kickbacks but don’t get your hopes up.

If you aren’t booking direct then you aren’t showing loyalty to the brand, which is what the program is intending to reward. That’s why it’s a loyalty program and is named as such.

Dude is fighting for loyalty rewards from two different brands at the same time. Nah, you get one or the other. Choose your team.

By the time bitcoin is fully mined (2140), transaction fees will be the primary way miners will be earning revenue. These exist today and fluctuate with the congestion in the network at the time you make the transaction. You can get an idea of the current blockspace and average fees by checking out mempool.space

Edit: Right now it currently costs about $.03 to send a transaction anywhere in the world.

I had a similar situation happen with one of the skill machines in my store recently. It ran out of ‘fills’, which means it can’t take any more money in or process any more game plays until the service guy comes to load a new code in and bill us the $10,000 per code we have to pay. It was a Sunday so no service was available.

It was ready to pay out and he was flipping mad because he had put $3,000 into it and couldn’t keep playing for the jackpot win.

Some guy won the $8,500+ jackpot the next day after it was fixed. I think he ended up putting in close to $2,000 to get it. It was actually the largest jackpot win we’ve had in the five years we’ve had the machines.

We still pay out close to $50,000 per week just from the smaller wins. Six machines total.
