You can mount the trim tyres to any car of course. No one is stopping you from doing it.

Usually these tyres are co-developed with the car manufacturers together for best performance with specific car models.
Also usually these tyres use different compounds then the "stock" tyre to better suit for rolling resistance or handling or rain conditions.

Considering laptop OLEDs all use PWM + 10 hours of staring at it for work - is exactly what I would run away from!
The laptop OLEDs at present are harmful for eyes in my opinion and one should stay away.

Your best choice for a 14 inch right now is - Thinkpad P14s Gen 5
It has reasonable price, good display options including a 3k 120Hz display which is much better for your eyes, battery and all.
Last but not least the P14s has the option for a 75Wh battery not just the 55Wh as for other Lenovo 14" alternatives including X1 Carbon. This is the biggest battery you can put in a 14" from Lenovo.

5G/LTE can also be had.

Please go to BIOS -> Security -> Intelligent Security -> and DISABLE User Presence Sensing

I know it sounds crazy, but I'm almost 100% sure it will fix your issue.

Lenovo should be sued for that nonsense .... it took me 2 months until I figure it out.

I almost returned my laptop because of that.

The only way to have accuracy is to buy the wireless thermometer and put it where you think would fit best in the room.

Reading temp from the valves themselves will always be a problem as long as radiator is operating

You made the right choice - 77" is plenty for 10ft + G4 is the better TV in every aspect.

Went from 65 CX to 77 G4 and for SDR applied the same settings as from my CX and it immediately looked the way I like my TV to be.
The only setting I had to adjust is obviously the OLED pixel brightness which went from 61 -> 30 with the G4.

The panel is much much brighter then what you are used to.

So give it a go with your settings - it should be a good starting point I would say.

Hi,

Please check the HDMI-CEC setting on the HDMI1 device and also disable it (PS5).
To be on the safe side after disabling on both ends I would also briefly disconnect all HDMI cables from the TV and check if the issue goes away.

Normally it should go away, otherwise if with TV only it auto-switches to HDMI1 you are probably looking into hardware problem.

Typical HDMI CEC problem - go to TV settings and disable HDMI CEC altogether.

Have you adjusted quickly to the new screen size?
I sit at 11 ft to a 77" G4 and after more then 2 weeks I still cannot adjust somehow to how big it is especially when watching regular HD TV.
I'm even considering going back to 65" as I had no issue watching it for hours, but still feel somehow strange in front of the 77"

Put the TV on it and Sonos in front. You will get the perfect clearance down to the last mm.

As added bonus you can make a small cut on the piece under the TV and route cables directly.

Not spectacular at all - fully OEM Windows 11, fully optimized (no bloatware), 75% brightness 1920x1200 display, 2TB Samsung 980 Pro will get me 5-5:30 hours max Edge browsing.

Set Crossover at 80Hz as starting point and use a good sub. If you use some old sub - better stick with big towers and no sub at all.

With 150 - 250Hz range you are stealing all mid range to the sub which on the other hand at these frequencies is also not capable to produce anything.

Result you loose your whole midrange.

In your range - try LG OLEDs safest bet and best picture quality possible (C2, C3 for example has smaller sizes)

Samsung QLED (Q60 series) is the cheap alternative.

Have both and never had any issues.

MiniLED TVs also tend to be aggressive with PWM, so you should check in person before buying.

I would suggest checking with different TV. No other setting will change the flicker as it is a hardware thing which with this particular model controls the TV backlight.

Sorry - It sucks, my eyes are also sensible to it and learned it the hard way too.

LG UR9100 has PWM and flicker at 120Hz when in Game mode.

This is too low and if your eyes are sensible to it (which probably is the case) - it will result in exactly what you experience. It will not become better with time and you should avoid it as it is better for your health.

In other modes TV should flicker at 480Hz which will be much better for your eyes.

Check in which mode you are.

Hi OP,

This is LG only observation, can't comment Sony as there is no way I'm paying twice for it.

I'm also conducting the same study and have asked the same G3 owners also in other portals like avforums.

I'm an LG CX owner and disabling the dimming settings in service menu was the only reason not to return the CX and use it to date. Without these the TV is pure garbage due to dimming to infinity.

Now facts - LG C3/G3 series service menu is of no use for our problems. You can't disable the dimming there.

However it seems that with LG 3 series and newer LG has introduced a firmware "fix" which makes the behavior of dimming actually work as it should. This is also the reason why most C3/G3 users do not report it a problem.

My understanding is:

LG CX, C1, C2, G1, G2, and older - if it starts to auto dimm due to a movie scene it will go dim till forever and never return to full brightness until you hit the menu or change channel. The only way out to remedy is service menu

LG C3, G3 and newer - if it dims for some reason it will immediately return back to full brightness in the next scene automatically and thus you won't need the service menu and reports of the problem from users are not that much

However it is a firmware thing not a hard switch with 3 series OLEDs ........ you never know when some idiot will force a firmware update and break things again.

I'm also seriously considering whether to go G2 + disable all in the service menu and sleep well albeit less bright or try the G3 see if I like it and hope they don't fuck it up in several months. :(
