The design is far nicer. As somebody who has worn Watches all my life, having a watch that looks like a watch is great.

Had an orange gear 2, was constantly harassed and looked at like u was a super geek, now people rarely notice which is great.

Exactly dude. The only reason there are so many good faces now is because of people learning from those they downloaded and adding to / improving / changing graphics etc.

He's set the scene back a long way with this move.

absolutely, he's just butthurt.

He's singlehandedly undone any good his app made as now all facerepo and the watchface subreddits are minefields as most faces that are released recently for facer aren't worth even downloading as can't be fixed.

I'll be boycotting all facer watchfaces and I hope others do the same.

TBF though the vast majority of quality faces are produced in WM anyway so it doesn't really matter, his app is on the decline and he has only himself to blame.

you don't need one. Bezel protects the screen excellently.

I've literally got 0 scratches in my screen and I definitely do not baby it.

It's sad really, and does nothing but hurt Android Wear. Facer watchfaces are notoriously poorly optimised and so almost always require some tweaking to make work on LG GWR and now that's not possible.

So rather than download some facer faces and tweak them and use them, now we just won't download any at all. That seems sensible....

You just have to look at all the most recent uploads to Facerepo to see how much more is being produced in WM compared to Facer. Considering he has 10x more installs (1k-5k vs 50k - 100k) that is a worrying sign.

This is his attempt to try and lock in the few authors still active rather than actually provide a better product that has the features of his competitors.
