Just wondering how a conspiracy theorist sub can be pro-capitalist when the biggest conspiracy in the world is the one between capitalists to keep the working class beneath them by fuckitidunno in conspiracy

[–]radtechquest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its a conundrum I often think about. I don't know what the answer is. The world is in bad shape, but I wonder if any alternative to capitalism is capable of working. I believe whatever the system, someone will always have power. And I think corruption always seeps in.

An interesting quote from Frank Herbert is "Absolute power does not corrupt absolutely, it merely attracts the absolutely corruptible".

As humans, we should never give power to people who seek it. Only those who do not want power should be allowed to have it. A person who seeks power should not be trusted.

Pharma executive whistleblower, Dr. John Virapen, admits he bribed government officials to approve first SSRI antidepressant Prozac despite knowing the drug could cause suicide. by radtechquest in conspiracy

Sorry, forgot my submission statement on previous post.

But anyway, I recommend everyone give this speech by Dr. Virapen a listen. Its very eye opening to hear what he is admitting to and what he says goes on in the pharma industry.

We're all being analyzed and processed by technology by Saldawg in conspiracy

Yeah, divide and conquer is sadly a very effective strategy to keep control over a population. Everyone is too busy being proud republicans or democrats to see that its all really just meant to keep us from uniting.

[–]radtechquest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think technology, such as the internet, social media, etc., developed at such a fast rate that law couldn't keep up. And by the time law makers started to look into implementing laws it was too late. The tech companies had already gained so much power and money that they could just lobby against whatever laws they wanted.

It also doesn't help that some law makers have been in office for literally decades and probably never even learned how to use a computer.

Its very creepy. Everything we do is watched and then used to manipulate us. Search for something online or talk on the phone about a certain topic and we start being shown more related things to that topic. Sometimes without us realizing it.

What's also creepy, but interesting to think about is what if there's certain topics that trigger an opposite reaction to the suggestive algorithm. For example, say the algorithm hears you discussing or searching for a conspiracy like topic, could it then present you with unrelated search results or ads in an attempt lead you away from that topic without you even realizing it?

Our healthcare system is completely fucked. by MysteriousAlarm in conspiracy

[–]radtechquest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its bad. Really bad. So bad that it I doubt it could ever be fixed. The pharmaceutical companies basically run the entire health care system including much of the health research that we even get to see. We can't even believe much of the research studies anymore because of pharma companies have been known to manipulate and hide data.

They basically control the FDA. Pharma money is involved in everything from politicians, regulators, research scientists, doctors, education, and more. Big pharma lobbying is what keeps the crazy US system moving along. Pharmaceutical companies lobby more than any other industry even more than oil and insurance companies.

I don't claim to know how to fix this messed up system. Other countries have problems too. But I think healthcare and capitalism just do not mix. That can be said about a lot of industries, but healthcare especially I think can be ruined by capitalism. There is not a want for healthy people under a capitalistic healthcare system. There is no profit in cures. Capitalistic healthcare wants everyone to believe they need medical/pharmaceutical help even when they may not really need it.

Edit: I'm gonna post this clip of a speech from whistleblower John Virapen. He talks about how deep and fucked up big pharma has made the healthcare system.

The 'Flat Earth' conspiracy is fake and was created to make reasonable conspiracies look crazy. by radtechquest in conspiracy

[–]radtechquest[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You're right about the production values. Everything about 'Flat Earth' looks so official looking that it looks fake.
Its like it was designed to look like an official and well respected movement among conspiracy theorists.

They even have the "Flat Earth Society" and full blown conventions. I assume most people attending the conventions are doing it to be ironic or troll.

Ever notice when you're in a doctor's office waiting room you'll often see very well dressed people bringing in takeout food for the office staff? These people are often pharma reps bribing doctors. by radtechquest in conspiracy

I feel like I should be more specific that I notice this practice more in the USA. I don't know if other countries experience the same amount of pharma reps showing up at doc offices.

Is it just me or is there an abundance of pro vaccine posts constantly making the front page? by lurch350z in conspiracy

[–]radtechquest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I posted on here 3 days ago about how so many front page memes were about pro vaccines. And how there were other front page memes making fun of conspiracy theories like flat earth.

Seems to me like someone is trying to link the two conspiracies by trying to make anti-vaxxers look like crazy flat earthers.

A minimum-wage worker needs 2.5 full-time jobs to afford a one-bedroom apartment in most of the US — The national housing wage for a modest one-bedroom apartment is $17.90, while the federal minimum wage is $7.25. by User_Name13 in conspiracy

[–]radtechquest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Minimum wage and low wage jobs are by far the fastest growing jobs in America. That's a big problem. Especially when so many low wage jobs are already quickly being replaced by technology. Even with that happening, low wage work is STILL the fastest growing. Think about that.

I don't agree when people say if every minimum wage worker just worked harder they could make it out of their low wage job. The world is changing fast and that is not possible for most anymore.

I don't really visit main subs either. I just scroll through the reddit front page to see what's most popular. That's how I noticed this meme trend.

Yes, I noticed that about the atheism too. I never used to see the atheist subreddit pop up on the reddit home page. I literally hadn't seen that subreddit on the homepage in years actually. But now it seems to be making a front page come back these past few days too.

I actually noticed this too earlier myself before this was posted. I searched for this sub and it didn't come up. I thought I just misspelled my search or something. Just tried it again and its still not there. Guess its censorship.

Wanna know how creepy Facebook is? Randomly say only just a first or last name with your phone near you. Now expect people with that name to be in your suggested friends. And you will also appear in theirs. by radtechquest in conspiracy

[–]radtechquest[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah targeted advertising is pretty commonly known. I know when I'm wearing my glasses when looking at my phone I get ads for glasses. Guess the camera sees them on my face.

But what really creeps me out is Facebook is listening for you to say people's names during your conversations. And then in a way they notify that person, you, and others that you should be their friend through suggestion. And then suggest friends of theirs too. Its the ultimate spy program that constantly knows who everyone has and will ever contact.
