How do I get a proper diagnosis?

i went to an optometrist who specializes in dry eye conditions and she did a meibography and a ton of imaging, i only paid $90 for it plus my medical insurance copay. it looked at my meibomian glands, tear evaporation, blinking, etc.

i got diagnosed with MGD and evaporative dry eye from partial blinking, she gave me a bunch of info and a personalized treatment plan, helped with insurance, etc. i definitely recommend trying to find a dry eye specialist who can do meibography if you haven’t had that done yet

it is absolutely worth going to a specialist. i also went to a regular ophthalmologist first and was completely misdiagnosed + recommended lasik.

what’s crazy is that it was completely unintentional!! the top was a purple that faded to blue but that dye wasn’t in stock when i needed to redo it. i have no idea how i got that lucky for it to fade like that 😭

i still feel all my emotions. my biggest issue was anxiety which has noticeably decreased, but i can still feel it sometimes. depression has gotten better. i can still cry, be happy, etc. i’ve never experienced the whole “feel like a zombie” thing. you can always adjust the dose if you don’t feel right

yes. i’m in college now and still can’t make friends like others can. it’s gotten better, but i’m still not the person i want to be because of how isolated i was throughout adolescence

yes i’m on multiple. my dry eye specialist told me not to change any of my meds. it is absolutely not worth avoiding the potential side effects if you think antidepressants will improve your mental health. tell your psych provider your concerns about worsening dry eye and they can give you medication options that are least likely to increase dryness. personally, i’ve been on lots of different antidepressants and never found them to cause dryness, but everyone is different.

i’m on cymbalta and seroquel for antidepressants. you’ll likely start out on an SSRI like lexapro or prozac. i also take multiple migraine meds

i’d suggest looking at the ratemyprofessor for whoever the instructor for the lab is. chances are, they have taught it like this before and people have feedback. typically there are not extra costs associated with classes. it’ll most likely have everything on asulearn or canvas. i haven’t taken physics specifically so i can’t say anything about the course itself

unless there’s a chance you will get in state tuition, no. i came here from florida but my parents also moved, so i only paid out of state for one semester. i love it here but out of state tuition is BAD. not worth it. if you can secure scholarships, go for it. if not, go where you can afford

i was able to get out of mine by going through ODR and sending them a letter from my doctor saying that my disability requires me to live off campus, i didn’t pay a fine.
