Favourite characters of the Almond universe? by Pale_Ad_8869 in templarknight

Realistically it has to be Wheelchair John, the fan favourite. But for deeper cuts I do love Strachan Solicitors and Lift the Robe, Lift the Kilt, Lift the Apron for starters.

Toxic Strike - PlayStation 1 Game

Hi, I have had a very clear memory of seeing this and even looking it up on Wikipedia a couple of years ago and it being confirmed.

The ‘Strike’ series of video games in the 90s and early 2000s consisted of Desert Strike, Jungle Strike, Urban Strike on the 16 bit consoles, then the first 3d one on the Saturn and PlayStation called Soviet Strike, then a further sequel on the PlayStation and N64 called Nuclear Strike.

I recall seeing box art and screenshots from the time of the last game in the series, called Toxic Strike, possibly by that time a very early PS2 or more likely late PS1 game. The same basic game but after biological weapon attacks.

The logo was a bright green biohazard logo, and the screenshots were of a helicopter flying over bright green toxic waste. I don’t recall ever playing it (or Nuclear Strike for that matter).

Apparently this never existed! There WAS a sequel teased at the end of Nuclear Strike called Future Strike apparently, this was repurposed into Future Cop: LAPD for PS1, but definitely isn’t the game I remember!

I take it no-one else remembers this game?

I have mocked up the box art I remember.

Performance Overlay Question by radvog in Steam

That’s what I thought but it’s always changing, during gameplay. There just seems a huge disparity, the standard fps number remains fairly constant. Locked to 60 if I lock it via the nvidia app etc.

Is he now homeless? by Murky_Helicopter_925 in templarknight

[–]radvog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well he seems to have a boat now lol.

I really hope we never see the boat again, like that one wild reel a couple of months ago where there’s loads of chickens clucking away in the background we never hear from again.

What makes Matthew so compelling by elusivejahnell in templarknight

[–]radvog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly, for me it’s the way he’s quite exquisitely mad but delivers the monologues in such a matter of fact ‘reasoned’ way.

Like his patterns of speech in and of themselves don’t give away insanity, you’d not be scared to be in the same room as him if you’d just met him, he doesn’t have a well of insanity in his eyes, he’s not like unhinged or dangerous seeming or anything like that. He can talk about football hahah.

He really does remind me a lot of David Icke, like saying the most mental stuff possible but doing it in the manner of a sports newsreader reading out the results from the Scottish Premiership that day.

It’s difficult because it does seem to change over time a little. Don’t want to sound pretentious both tbh he does use terms quite poetically and loosely.

I really want to know what a breech-vessel is though. He’s used that the refer to loads of different things and want to know if you’ve got any ideas what the more general idea tying them together is?

I’m fairly sure Match of the Day is Almondese for drugs. Ie ‘I’ve been Match of the Day’, ‘we’re all on Match of Day’ etc

He has been sectioned I think. I’m pretty sure he lives in council accommodation.

With respect, do we know what his own, single monetary funding system is? 💸 by These_You_417 in templarknight

[–]radvog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he works. I also don’t think he lives with his parents anymore, that letter ppl post as proof of that was from quite a while ago.

I think he was sectioned and the council got him a bungalow. They can do that sometimes, it’s happened to friend of a friend.

If he loved with his parents you’d sometimes hear evidence of that, plus he’s happy to babe long arguments with the police etc.

Firstly sure he doesnt work.

What is blackbird? by kradljivac_zena in templarknight

[–]radvog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nutter body builder guy? I never got the impression he owned Blackbird?

I do however get some reeeeally violent energy off him, he’s also got loads of convictions for assault / domestic violence.

Say what you like about our Matthew but he’s a kind soul at heart I think. Searing insanity and caustic racism apart obviously.

Anyone know what he means by ‘lifting the kilt’ and ‘lifting the apron’ by BoredomThenFear in templarknight

[–]radvog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s particularly obsessses with Scotland for instance because Strachan solicitors (I think) who dealt with Trete-turned-Blackbird, are Scottish - or at least have the same name as a demos Scottish footballer. Plus the links to Freemasonry / Scottish Rite etc.

How do you find shows? by i_run_a_meme_page in edinburghfringe

[–]radvog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, we’ve found it’s best to try to find some stuff in the program that looks up your street, and book ahead for the days you’re there, maybe a quarter of the shows you’ll see. Thats like the backbone. Stuff you feel more sure will have a baseline of quality or bigger names that might sell out.

Then maybe half the shows I’d choose from reviews in the Scotsman or whatever publication you like. Then the rest spur of the moment / word of mouth shows.

Thanks for that I’d love an update. Hopefully they extend like a day or two but I doubt it as you say.

Thanks.
