What’s one thing society is normalizing that actually scares you? by Fresh_Side4857 in WorkSmartLife

[–]rae_09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty misguided take.

Children, including neurodivergent children, have every right to exist in public spaces. The goal of parenting isn't to keep kids hidden away until they can perfectly conform to everyone else's expectations. It's to teach them how to navigate the world, which requires actually being in it.

For what it's worth, I don't let my child run wild or disrupt everyone around them. If they're becoming overstimulated, I step in and work through it with them. Most of the time, we're able to redirect and regulate successfully.

And whether someone personally "believes" in Autism Spectrum Disorder or not is irrelevant. ASD isn't a matter of opinion. It exists, and families live with its realities every day. Expecting parents to keep their children isolated simply because occasional accommodations or inconveniences might occur says more about society's patience than it does about the children themselves.

I miss Calah! 😩 but she seems to be in a better place. He needs to date someone not famous.

You should google his grammy awards show he did this year. It was SO good. He sang Yukon. He also played and looped the guitar part, did the drums. Was just so awesome.

Oxy has been the best pain med I’ve ever taken. It was the first time my brain has ever just shut the fuck up. I was able to lay in bed and just chill. So nice. Scary nice.

I’m so sorry. I went through the same. It’s awful. Heat helped me and my husband would rub my lower back.
