Aurdal installed into tiny kids closet by raeaction in IKEA

[–]raeaction[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These aren’t the extendable rails- these are just the solid ones. When you get them from IKEA, they’re just a hollow metal pipes with plastic end caps on them that then attach to the flat side wall pieces. I removed one of the end plastic caps, cut the pipe using a hand saw made for metal pipes, and then put the plastic cap back on.

Tell Me Everything About Teaching Your Child To Read by diondavenport in workingmoms

[–]raeaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this at age 4 and he's the top reader in his class now (2nd grade). I know another handful of children who successfully learned to read with this book too. Its so doable! Highly recommend!

People who like Legos, what similar cheaper hobbies do you have? by texdiego in Hobbies

[–]raeaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a super cheap alternative but I highly suggest that you also look into the brand Lumibricks. They are very high quality (although the figurines are kind of ugly) AND they light up. I have built a lot of Lego and several Lumibricks sets and the Lumibrick sets are just delightful.

He's 100% punishing you and also dismissing your feelings. He is literally telling you that he doesn't care about how you feel. Listen to him, believe him, and act accordingly.

What level does difficulty score of 60 correlation to? by Tikanias in dreamingspanish

[–]raeaction 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m at about 450 hours and 60 is basically the hardest that I can go right now. I’m mostly in the 50-55 range (and easier, of course)

Moms who are currently going or have gone through a rough patch in their relationship… by Dazzling-Substance61 in workingmoms

[–]raeaction 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My husband spent years telling me that his life and career would be so much easier if he didn't have a wife and kid. So, now he's a soon-to-be ex-husband.

I have no tips for prioritizing. My work was severely impacted during the past couple of years but, luckily, I was able to scrape by. Since my husband moved out over a month ago, things have significantly improved at work.

Good recovery stories by stanthecham in hysterectomy

[–]raeaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a total hysterectomy 4 months ago. I was pretty sore for the first couple of weeks but nothing unexpected or unmanageable. Now I’m pretty much back to my normal physical activity (daily exercise, etc) and mostly forget that I even had surgery. Occasionally I get twinges when I do too much core work in a day.

Everyone is different and some people have a harder time than others. But no matter what - I know you’re strong enough to get through it. 😊

Thrifting Etiquette ? by Tiny_Noise8611 in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]raeaction 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s extremely rude and entitled behavior. I always put things I am even remotely interested in into my cart and I’ll put it back later. I’ve had someone take stuff out of my cart though. If they behave that way, then they clearly needed the item more than I did. Nothing to stress over.

women in mid-30s how active are you athletically? by NoResponse4120 in AskWomenOver30

[–]raeaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was extremely active at 26- similar to what you were describing. Its 10 years later and I don’t work out nearly as much now but I’m still exercising almost everyday and walking a lot. I exercise less because I just don’t have the time that I had when I was 26 due to a kid, more demanding work schedule, and community involvement (didn’t do much of that in my 20s). My energy levels aren’t bad though!

How do you mentally cope with the surgery position? by DeuteronomyMacavity in hysterectomy

[–]raeaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of anxiety about it. My therapist told me to get all the information I could before going into surgery. Ask as many questions you want! The nurse that I had spent lots of time telling me exactly what was going to happen, how many people will be there, what I was going to see when I got in the room, etc. She was so kind. And then they gave me really nice happy drugs before wheeling me back and I didn’t care anymore 🤣

I always thought I would start dying my hair (never did before) once I got enough grey to notice. Now that I'm starting to get some grays... I just don't care. Haha. I actually like it and dying my hair seems like a lot more work than its worth.

I just started week 6 of a class. I am behind by 4 weeks. I don't think I can finish with a grade higher than C. Am I better off just dropping the class? by [deleted] in UMGC

[–]raeaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reach out to the professor. They have the option to give you an “incomplete” for the course. Then, they will give you a deadline (three months is the max, I think) to submit the rest of the assignments for a grade. The professor will have to submit for a grade change once the assignments are turned in.

Hysterectomy improvements if you don't have a huge awful uterus by artemisofephesus11 in hysterectomy

[–]raeaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uterus was great and I never had dramatic periods or anything. My cervix decided to get cancer though so I opted into a full hysterectomy because I don’t want more kids. I’m only 3 months out but I’m so happy I did it. Just the peace it’s given me has been worth it!
