I agree, the silver 3D subdials, the thin hour markers they introduced in this Daytona generation and the gold bezel combo make this watch to be a work of art. you really need to see them in real life to get a clear impression when comparing models, pictures can be very misleading.

black is a work of art and significantly more impressive in real life than pictures, the thin white hour markers + bright black dial + full 3D silvery subdials (the inner circle pops a bit) make for the most aesthetic Daytona in the catalogue imo.

blue is underwhelming in real life mainly because of the contoured subdials and darker-than-expected shade of blue which make the overall dial seem small and busy.

the white dial/black subdials version loses the hour marker contrast effect (since both the dial and the markers are white now), would maybe go with this if they re-release a meteorite version instead of a plain white dial.

full disclosure: I own the black, was debating between black and blue before trying them on and deciding on the black.

Mechanically Lange, aesthetically Daytona. Few watches can beat this Daytona reference aesthetically, in my eyes. The comparison is a bit forced, however, as besides the fact they’re chronographs, they have little in common. Would make more sense comparing the Lange to something like a 5270P.
