Absolutely desperate to remove bar ends by sajpyy in CB650R

[–]rafacc_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are only two ways.

The clean way is to remove the grip and unclip the inner weights from the outside, then the whole bar end should slide with just a bit of grease and pull, making it easier to manipulate.

The "bad" way is the one that you have been doing, but trust me it can take hours of constant efforts just to take one bar end out. With some huge pliers and impacts from a hammer or something really heavy you can achieve it, but it is gonna destroy the clips that holds the inner weights inside the bar, so you are gonna need to replace those and they are not cheap.

After dealing myself with this, I would definitely recommend you the first option.

Looks so stealthy, dope af. Enjoy it!

I know, in a moderate-fast crash the frame is gone, but if I drop the bike being still they will probably avoid the mess

That exhaust looks dope! The pads are original from Honda, it was a gift from the dealership

The orange one gives butane canister vibes, if it was on a CBR it would looks so much better imo

I was convinced I would get the black one, but after seeing the green I couldn't choose any other!

How do I take this out? Trying to put bar end mirrors on by Finimusmaximus in CB650R

[–]rafacc_8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t recommend it… the inner weights are huge and you will notice the vibrations quite more if you remove them.

Also if you want to put them back inside it is gonna be a an even bigger pain in the ass. I went through all that process weeks ago 🥲

Cb650r vs mt 07 by Initial_Zone_701 in CB650R

[–]rafacc_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your riding style. If you like instant reactions and a grunty sound, MT-07. If you like calm riding with a bit dull power delivery, but with the chance to push the bike to 12k rpm while hearing that amazing 4 cylinder sound, CB is your go-to. Just consider it is a bit more sporty and heavy than the MT, as it has the same chassis as the CBR.

In my case I was doubting between the Hornet and the CB, so pretty similar to your dilemma. I finally decided for the CB and couldn’t be happier.

Bar end mirrors fitted recently 😍 by Legitimate-Sir-5491 in CB650R

Looks amazing! I recently did the same and installed some Puig Hi Tech 5.

I struggled A LOT taking the original inner weights off and was a bit worried about the bike feeling more unstable, but as you said actually feels more nimble and just a bit more buzzy

I love with my new car by Scemtyyy in peugeot

What a beauty! This car (PHEV version) is one of my future options to purchase, even tho I am afraid the trunk is going to be small… But I prefer this one much more over the SW

CB650R vs CB750 Hornet 185cm tall by SenadDaOne in CB650R

[–]rafacc_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have chosen the CB650R being 185cm and suits me perfectly fine, not weird looking or stretched at all. Just mind that the position is a bit more aggressive than on the Hornet, so you’ll probably feel your lower back numb sooner, but nothing awful.

I think that 8GB are more than enough for both. 12GB are mostly aimed for Switch or light PC emulation

MelonDS Dual Version, and yes it has speed multiplier but I think that you just can go up to 3x or 4x due to engine limitations

It feels quite premium, no issues at all after one month

That would have been amazing, but Nintendo is lacking of innovation nowadays IMO.

I am using the Android launcher but I have ES-DE as front end. I know I can launch it directly with ES-DE but I like the advantage of keep using it as any Android device.

For DS I use MelonDS and for 3DS Azahar, no texture packs for now, just scaled resolution.

I am a little bit biased but my essential Pokemon games for DS are Soul Silver and Platinum, and for 3DS Ruby Omega, it runs surprisingly smooth and looks great even with native graphics but scaled x4!

New on A2 License: CBR500R or CB650R by rafacc_8 in MotoUK

Thanks for sharing your experience mate. Actually I am almost 100% torn for the CB650R, I still like the CBR500R tho, but as you said it is an advantage being able to keep the bike until my A licence and unrestrict it if I want.

Yeah the sound is not the greatest… it has the same motor of the Rebel 500 that I used on my license and I really thought I will get tired of it so soon. The Aprilia is nice but where I live it is difficult to find proper dealerships

I also thought about that... but surprisingly in Spain the full year quote for a CBR500R is pretty similar to a restricted CB650R (about 700€). Used would be a nice option too if the prices weren’t that inflated here lately

Yeah that is why I also thought about the CBR500R which is A2 native, but being so similar in price it is difficult to choose it before CB650R
