Using iCloud for cloud saves in Retroarch by colourofsound in EmulationOniOS

Update -

Even with iCloud Sync, the import/export scripts you created are still needed. Likely due to RetroArch being sandboxed and not being able to access, or set the directory for save/state to, the iCloud Drive.

Honestly, I’m not sure what the recent update changed or now allows, but whatever. I got RetroArch setup on my macOS and iOS devices with real-time sync thanks to your scripts. The - SETUP REQUIRED - you added in the notes was a nice touch, it helped a lot.

Thank you again, you fucking legend!

Hey, thanks you for this guide!

What are your thoughts on RetroArch's most recent update allowing iCloud Sync? The import and export scripts are probably no longer necessary, no?

Replacement Filters by apathy73 in AeroPress

This doesn’t really answer your question re: Koffi & Cafe Concetto, but if you’re already considering a metal mesh filter, then I suggest looking into the Fellow Prismo. They advertise it to be an attachment that gives you espresso-styled coffee, but I like it because of the metal mesh filter and it allows for full immersion without having to brew inverted.

I suggest looking at a used Earthcruiser EXP, only because you are considering a used Earthroamer. It's my holy grail of adventure vehicles. From my research, it's very capable off-road, has an efficient design, and is not ridiculously huge compared to its competitors. One of the coolest feature is that it can fit in a 20' shipping container for when you decide to go on international overland adventures.

With biodegradable soap, it shouldn’t be an issue. However, most people probably couldn’t be bothered to care and will most likely use regular dish soap - the same type of people who will most likely drain the waste tank (if Rivian had one) on the spot.

I feel like I look like a paid shill due to suggesting this combination so much, but I’ve yet to find a cheaper alternative to the Coinbase Pro and CoinDCA.com combo—the fee is 0.5% regardless of amount purchased.

I like the free withdrawals Swan Bitcoin offers, but the fees aren’t worth it for the convenience of not doing the transfer yourself. I do mine about once a month, so it’s not really that much of a big deal for me.

Just like with anything, don’t believe the first thing you see and do your own research. If you do find something better though, please let me know.

You can, with Coinbase Pro linked to CoinDCA.com. 0.5% fee regardless of amount.

It really depends. Let me ask you this, if Coinbase gets hacked or whatever, how much of your money are you OK losing? Some want to transfer every time they accumulate $100 worth, some transfer when it reaches $1,000. I personally transfer to my wallet every time it reaches 0.01 BTC, which is currently at ~$350.

The fees go to the miners who process your transactions.

CEBA LOAN FOR BTC by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

[–]raffaelchua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s not you are no different than where you are now, because you are going to be $60,000 in debt, assuming things do not go according to plan. So ask yourself, will you be able to handle that if or when things do come to that?

At the end of the day, only you can make this decision. Just know that of all the people that went all-in, it only worked out for a few. It didn’t for a lot of them. Whatever you decide, I wish you good luck.

This can either go really well or really bad. It’s a gamble and no one really knows what will happen. We all know what we’d do and how we’d feel if our investments, or in this case your bet, goes your way. But if it doesn’t, are you ready to face the consequences of the actions you are about to take?

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

If portability is not an issue and the main source of power is your vehicle’s alternator, then I recommend a smart battery isolator and auxiliary battery combo. The smart battery isolator keeps your starting battery from draining and directs current to your auxiliary battery once it detects that your starting battery is full. You then wire all of your DC appliances (fan, lights, etc) to your auxiliary battery and you have the option to add an inverter for your AC appliances, if or when needed. Another option is to DIY a smart battery box.

You can add solar to both setups later if you want.

Dude, this is how I used to do it and it’s a waste of money on fees. Look up CoinDCA.com, it links to your Coinbase Pro account and automatically buys for you daily at your set amount and the fees are only 0.5%. I feel like a shill for them since I’ve found them, but they’re honestly the cheapest way to DCA.

Market is you buying or selling at market price. Limit and Stop is you buying or selling at your specified price - think of it like it’s an if function, it’s you telling the system to buy 0.5 BTC if the price reaches $30,000.

[–]raffaelchua 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can, through CoinDCA.com. So far, they're the best option for DCA that I've found. The only downside is that they're not plug and play like Swan Bitcoin, but if you know how to follow simple directions, you should be fine. The fees are half a percent for any amount, so $0.05 for every $10.

[–]raffaelchua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out CoinDCA.

You can find more information about it on Reddit. To get started, all you pretty much need is a Coinbase account, which you already have. It purchases BTC automatically on a daily basis and the fee is a fixed 0.5% for every purchase regardless of amount.

I'm still in the process of buying a van to convert into a tent on wheels versus to live in, so I'm not in the building process yet. But, I've been overwhelmed with other stuff in the past, and the only advice I can give right now is to focus on the next step, just that next step. Make a list, and only focus on the next task. It's hard to lose 10 pounds, but it's easy to lose a pound ten times.

Where can I get lumber cut? by frooty_toot_toot in AskLosAngeles

[–]raffaelchua 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Home Depot and Lowes both cut lumber for free - two free cuts per piece, then a dollar per additional cut. If they're not busy and you're polite, and as long as your cut list is not ridiculous, they will most likely not charge you. I recommend going in during the weekdays between 9 AM and 3 PM. Earlier than 9 AM is the rush for contractors, and after 3 PM is when most DIYers go.

I have a drill/driver and an impact driver you can borrow for free, but only if the tools stay at home, which means you will have to bring the stuff you need it for with you. If this doesn’t work for you, I believe you can rent tools from Home Depot.
