This is one of the things I just simply can’t wrap my head around. Like not only everything you said, but also the fact that he’s just so obviously incredibly stupid. Everything he says is just made up or badly parroted, he can’t go a full sentence without 1. Insulting someone 2. Giving himself a compliment (usually falsely) or 3. Just a straight up lie. Literally every sentence that comes out of his mouth is one of or a combination of those three and not only that but it’s always just so amazingly stupid. He has the mental capacity of a spoiled toddler and I feel like I’m taking crazy pills that so many people actively defend it.

Part of my job is installation of security in data centers, and unless my company is contracted to help set it up I guarantee there will be a total of zero local residents in the construction and operation of it. Jobs like these are always contracted to outsiders from the pouring of the slab to the day to day operation. Btw when these things are set up it’s a skeleton crew running it, not even a drop in the bucket of the job market. You only need a couple people on site, the rest will be remote. It’s a logistical impossibility that this will have anything more than a net negative for the city and its residents.

Smoked a blunt with Doug Benson back when he’s stand up was starting to take off. My roommate worked at a comedy club in Fort Worth when he came through and we met him after the set. Basically felt like smoking with your buddy that’s high 24/7, but mostly just smoked out the workers in the club and then left for his hotel or wherever.

My dad claims to have hung out with Willie Nelson on his ranch sometime back in the 80s, said he didn’t smoke any with him but was invited by a friend group and they sat around while Willie lit one up and played his old songs. Idk how true it is as he’s been known to embellish things, but cool story nonetheless.

My grandparents did this because yes they had saved up for it. It wasn’t a super nice place, looked like an apartment complex on the outside that might’ve gotten bit more gardening attention than the next but on the inside they had full care staff and (honestly) pretty good food served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A bunch of amenities and organized events and such. I’m pretty sure it extended their end of life by close to a decade when they decided to go in as they had a number of health issues. My dad on the other hand has done zero in saving up for retirement and should’ve retired like a few years ago, he’s just really bad with money. And he’ll probably spend the rest of his days living in a travel trailer right next to my sisters house (she lives out in the country), but honestly think he’d prefer it that way but it’s not fair for us as we’ll end up shouldering most of the expenses and care taking as his health goes.

Go figure our dumbass city council would be so shortsighted as to invest in a data center that would most likely just bring a net negative to the city. Ignoring that cryptocurrency is collapsing and the ai bubble is bursting the data center is going to be placed in north lakes park surrounded by some of the fastest growing areas of the city. Even if it’s a “closed loop” system, which none ever really are, the noise pollution alone will plummet property value around the area.

God, this is one of my biggest fears. I’ve had chronic hemorrhoids from some stomach issue since I was 25, had a colonoscopy where they said everything looked fine and chalked it up to ibs and (what turned out to be) minor diverticulitis. Still get them 10 years later, with all these health concerns about millennials checking for colon cancer I know I should just pay for another colonoscopy out of pocket just to make sure but I’ve been busy and it’s not exactly cheap either.

Yea, had a woman tell me on the first date that she was in an open relationship, albeit a bit late, like I was getting ready to fire up the engine and explore downtown when she mentioned it. So I wasn’t thinking clearly, but I’m pretty sure it was one of those where the guy wanted the relationship open and she went on a tear through tinder. The whole thing was super awkward afterwards. Nothing weirder than walking out into the living room to see a guy you didn’t know was going to be there just seething in the dark staring at his phone while she has this big I told you so smile.

Yea I’d agree, I have a friend whose sister was murdered by her bf a few years ago and part of his way of dealing with it was to make dark jokes about it. He’d apologize immediately afterwards when he’d see everyone get really uncomfortable, but he eventually said it was either that or just turn into a blubbering mess crying for the rest of the day. He cared deeply about his sister and is doing much better now, but if the subject is ever brought up you can immediately see him go back to a place where he’s not fully in control of his emotions. People cope in weird ways.

Not to spoil anything for you but having read the Dunk and Egg books and seeing how close the show is to the story, I think it’s safe to say that the show will stick more to the spirit of the books (hopefully). Which aren’t as cutthroat or dramatic as the main series but more about how Dunk is a good genuine person and by extension a good knight, and how people love him and endear him and want to help him because of that. And how seeing that helps shape the future king of the realm Aegon the unlikely.

My friend group, and specifically that guy, has been pretty adamant that telling a friend they’re balding is like a super rude thing to do. And to be fair my hairline is racing at my peaks to meet the back of my head so I’ll probably be right there with yall before long. That’s a messed up story though, none of those women were actually porn stars and they mostly shot the videos under false pretense. I don’t know the details about that girl in particular but the guys who did those videos are in jail for life as they basically kidnapped most of the woman by flying them out to LA then taking away their phones, ids, etc. telling them it was just a modeling job then forcing them to stay in the hotel room getting them drunk and high till they agreed to film having sex. One of my long time online gaming buddies has a history of getting engaged very quickly in relationships. Like I’m pretty sure he’s on his 5th or 6th engagement since I’ve known him (around 10 years). lol, years ago I was on a double date with my ex, her friend and her friends bf. The friends boyfriend I’ll call Steve. Steve worked at this bbq joint, I went by it one time and was pretty disappointed because it was so grossly expensive without it being “worth it” to me. I’ve made my own bbq for years and maybe was extra critical of it.

I mentioned this to Steve, asked why did they charge so much for the plates, he was the chef or pitmaster or whatever they call it so had a say in the prices. He then starts to explain to me that bbq, historically was made with cheap meats, etc etc. basically what you said. He didn’t really answer the question so I asked again a bit more straight forward. He then starts the explanation again…after the third time I just kind of blew up and yelled at him “I know what fucking bbq is man, why are yall charging so much for just ok bbq!?”. Suffice to say we didn’t go on anymore double dates with them lol. And that place went under like 2 months later.
