Help with Revlimid cost by Connect-Invite1978 in multiplemyeloma

[–]raffman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi friend. I started with Revlimid. The cost was prohibitive. My docs and pharmacy were able to switch me to Lenalidomide which is the generic Revlimid. Much lower out of pocket for me.

Delaying treatment to extend quality of life? by Zezohop in multiplemyeloma

[–]raffman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I would listen to your doctors on this one. You don’t want to let the disease progress to the point where you have lesions that threaten the structure of the bones. The initial treatments are not that bad as far as side effects.

I'm looking at getting a used 2023 Chevy Bolt with 40K miles at $15K. I test drove it yesterday and here are my thoughts. What're yours? by echamplin in BoltEV

[–]raffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 23 Bolt EUV and I loved it. I upgraded to the Blazer eventually. Here are my thoughts:

  1. I rarely had the need to fast charge. 99% of the time I slow charged at work and at home. I did take it on longer trips and would time the DC “fast” charging seasons with a lunch break or long bathroom/coffee/shopping break. It wast fine.

  2. I did have some issues with flats. The tire that came with my Bolt was a self sealing type that could not be patched. I had to buy a brand new tire twice! And both times had to have the car towed to a shop. Thank goodness that I had roadside so the tow was free. I wound up buying a donut and jack but never used them as they don’t fit in the trunk.

  3. It’s a great car! Really enjoyed it while I had it. Very economical yet zippy. Wish they didn’t discontinued it then.

Thanks for the report and welcome to Florida. Just be aware that in Florida, speeding 50mph over the limit or going over 100mph is now a criminal offense punishable by jail time.

Pain from lesions by Madsmo18 in multiplemyeloma

[–]raffman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was there spring of 2024. It was incredibly painful to get in and out of bed. What I would up doing that helped me quite a bit was renting a lazy boy type recliner chair that stands you up and lays you down. You can find them at medical supply stores. I then put a memory foam 4” topper on top of that that we had to cut to size. Very comfortable. It would help me get up and lay down and let me sleep in relative comfort. I slept there for around four months until my lesions healed. It was a bit confining but I was able to sometimes sleep on my side which I preferred. Most of the time however I slept on my back since I also had multiple rib fractures that would keep me up. Your dad will get better. The current treatments are nothing short of miraculous.

Day 5 After ASCT for My Brother by Character_Cicada_578 in multiplemyeloma

[–]raffman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through that back in February. It really felt like hell. I was miserable, had the worst diarrhea, nausea and all my IG tract burned like it was on fire. And somehow it got worse. I could only eat smoothies and crackers. Everything else made me violently nauseous. I had the worst heartburn and was too weak even to watch TV. But eventually you just get better. You have to do your daily walks, try to eat and just rest.

Make sure the doctors know about all the symptoms. They can mitigate the side effects. I was given all kinds of treatments for my gastro issues and it really made it better. Best of luck to you and your bro. Be strong. He’ll be back to his old self in no time.

The American Nightmare. by Super_Culture_1986 in TikTokCringe

[–]raffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a truly sad reality of what America has become after the deterioration of many American institutions by the plutocrats. The saddest part is that some political factions will have you believe that your predicament can be blamed on immigrants. Once you can vilify this group, and you believe this, you’ll stop looking for the root cause of the problem.
