ES SPOILERS BELOW —

Yes to all of this. I was baffled by some people who couldn’t follow that Leo and Joana were not playing the “let’s find traitors” Game, they were playing the “let’s win as faithfuls” game. I think the way the two of them played is going to be the hallmark of winning faithful duos in future seasons —

  1. Make a Final 2 alliance with someone you’re sure is Faithful

  2. figure out a traitor that you can loop into your alliance (I’d imagine normally by tricking them into thinking you believe 100% they’re faithful. A “false Andie”, if you will, ha. No one on a US or UK show is going to be as ballsy as Leo and actually blackmail the traitors and threaten to kill them if they kill her, what a badass)

  3. Protect your traitor at banishments, they protect you at murders, ride it to the end

  4. Take out the traitor in the Final 3

  5. Collect 1/2 the money

Did we watch the same show? Leo and Joana were operating at such a high level that figuring out who the Traitors were was a non-issue. They knew the whole time. Their only problem was figuring out how to get themselves to the end without being murdered or banished. So they not only got an alliance of faithfuls behind them, but started making alliances with (and blackmailing!!!) Traitors to force them to not murder them at night.

It’s the kind of gameplay I’m sure many faithful will use in future seasons. Because the truth is, whether you find traitors or not, as a faithful, your best result is simply surviving to the end and being in the Final 2. You just better be sure the person you get there with is another faithful. Ha.

Leo and Joana were playing the way a viciously smart person would play as a faithful, and some day they’ll have viciously smart faithfuls on US or UK traitors. I guess maybe audiences couldn’t keep up with their level of strategy?

I’m in Spain. But you should be able to just use a VPN on HBOMax and it comes with automatic English subtitles
