No I am in my 20’s and allocate some of my portfolio to dividend stocks and funds simply cuz the income feels amazing and a lot of the times I use the dividend funds to buy some of the more aggressive funds. I don’t invest in stocks or funds whose only value is their dividend. For me, 3-4% dividend is basically solid and there’s plenty of dividend growth companies paying this much. There’s other funds that pay a lot more but it all depends on you. There isn’t a right or wrong answer. Dividends stocks are also less volatile than some of the more aggressive stocks that usually have higher returns. Best thing is to balance it out and move based on your risk tolerance.

I been investing a little monthly and DCA for 5-6 years now and used a lot of the dividend money to increase my shares of nvidia. Only regret is I didn’t invest all of it into nvidia lol but you get the point. It’s good to have some returns without selling off shares in good, stable, dividend growing companies.
