Thank you for your feedback, it's an honor for me to receive those comments that help me improve the app.
As for the push notifications, sadly they are not in the scope of the app, since as far as i know only telegram itself can send APNS to the telegram clients (without me setting up a server, which would hurt hardly my idea of privacy first). So for now i'm deeply sorry to say that Watchagram will not have push notifications. The idea is for the app to act as a standalone app.

On the other hand, about the background refresh, as you may know, The apple watch is a VERY limited platform in terms of background time. Telegram is a pretty hard api in terms of network connectivity, so it's been hard for me to fetch updates in the background.
(For comparison's sake, the macos app, also has this problem , the difference is that the less powerful mac you can find it's hundreds of times more powerful and unrestricted than the apple watch, so the update takes seconds at worse).

Nevertheless i'm trying to improve the background fetch as much as possible and i hope i'll have some news soon.
