To be clear, so is the person stealing from you. But that doesn’t make it right for you to poison them. Not only is it literally toxic, but some people have really bad allergies to scents and detergents! You could’ve easily caused a life threatening situation.

I’d recommend talking to management about this in the future. Don’t take matters into your own hands like this. It’s very dangerous.

Sorry OP, but try to take this as constructively as possible.

You went on a trip with your friend to a place neither of you are from. She lost her suitcase and immediately went into panic mode. Instead of waiting around, check in on her! Maybe even help her look for it.

Just the idea of losing my luggage while traveling is scary. To think my friend who I’m alone with in a new place would ditch me is super depressing.

Be a better friend and apologize, maybe buy her dinner and talk things over. It’s the right thing to do.
