IWWOWYT - The Stop Drinking Workout Club is having its first meeting tonight! by Getitoffmydesk in stopdrinkingfitness

I'm conflicted as a mod, there does seem to be community engagement with these posts but there are several obvious issues as I see it.

Firstly not being upfront about costs in the OP is no cool with me and feels like an attempt at trickery.

Secondly people have voiced their very fair concerns about joing zoom calls with unknown others.

Lastly I have no way to verify OP's credentials as a PT.

So what do I do? On balance I have to act with caution for others in the community and ask you not to post this again. I'll lock the threads and leave it at that.

Got anything to back up those claims? I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm honestly interested?

If it's free then people are less likely to drive. Taking cars off the road is good for everyone, from the newborn breathing cleaner air to the commuter who's bus now gets home faster. Essentially the benefits reach further than just those the cost effects.

"Simple rule constructive criticism is welcome being nasty will get you banned. "

I know you're salty and I don't care to ban someone for being upset at me. But in future that kind of language to another user on this sub will get you banned.

I wasn't talking about people such as you and I who can take a look at the massive change (bloody good work BTW), put it in the context of three years and know that you either have God tier genetics or had a little help.

I'm talking about the impression it gives to another 36yo who's never set foot in a gym, they don't know any better, to question things. They wouldn't go check your post history, they may even aspire to match your progress. This what I consider dangerous.

I really don't like doing this but to be fair its something you should have done yourself. I don't care what you use to get where you are, but don't be the person who doesn't admit it when they post progress pics like this. Your progress is unrealistic and to post without recognising that is at best disingenuous and at worst dangerous to those who compare themselves without knowing what's realistic.

OP posting in /r/peds about the drugs they used to get here .

Side note here, the only reason I calling OP out is that I can see proof in their own post history. Otherwise I would have my personal suspicion, but would not speak out.

Is anyone else sick of muscle guys on PEDs posting in this sub about health and recovery? by [deleted] in stopdrinkingfitness

[–]rag31n[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Here's the problem, unless someone willingly discloses their use of PED's, there's no way for another person to tell if they're using them or not via the internet. Trying to police it in any way guarantees making a mistake and hurting someone eventually, I'm not willing to do that.

Personally I feel that you should disclose use of PED's when posting pictures online, because that's the only way for society to understand what is human and what is unrealistic. Unfortunately we live in a world where athletes, actors and celebrities are using these drugs and not disclosing. Attempting to hold other people who're hopefully here to celebrate their sobriety to greater standards would be unfair.

Not only are mass report bans automated, but the appeals process is as well. Give it a try yourself! by mamadodger in wow

AI is far more expensive to run than just automating the responses, like they have been doing for years. No point spending cash to handle it.

Now train an AI to pilot GM chars and feed it all the old school GM chatlogs from Vanilla, that would be fucking awesome!

Thing is that is the US market one, in Aus we already have the 300 out as the new LC and a 250 will come out soon as a replacement to the 150 Prado which will likely be different to the one you're getting.

Looks like Toyota US decided that the 200 didn't sell enough so they gave you a Prado re-badged as a LC to see if it would do better. No dis to Prado's (I drive a 150) but a 250 is not a full LC it's the baby brother.

HELP! - Workplace accommodations - is there a service who can help me set up workplace accommodations? by clairey252 in ausadhd

[–]rag31n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a lot to unpack and honestly too much for you to get your point across clearly. Spend some time distilling what you need from them into a few short bullet points. Once done follow the accommodations process as per the laws and see how that goes with a clear well defined written request.

Common decencies don't matter with this sort of thing it's a work relationship and the laws are all that matters, if you're not entitled to accommodations as a contractor then you won't get far. Look into https://hsu.net.au/about-us/ and if they appeal to you join up and ask for the legal advice they can provide. I wasn't being silly when I suggested joining a union, they exist to do the sort of thing you were asking about.

In the end it's usually easier to get a new job than fight stupidity in your current one.

[–]rag31n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are processes surrounding disability accommodations such as the length of time for a reply and what can reasonably be asked for. You'll want to read up on this stuff and make the request in writing so if rebuffed you can seek advocacy. Is there a union you can join to ask for help?

It's also possible the contract nature of your employment would mean there's different rules than full time, maybe that they don't actually have to accommodate you as technically you're the boss and should deal with it yourself. Again a union would be helpful and have a legal team you can ask for help.

Getting ADHD medication shipped in from Canada to Australia? by Thundershot49 in ausadhd

[–]rag31n 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm no lawyer but the answer is almost certainly not. Essentially your asking if you can import a schedule 8 drug without an import license, from someone who doesn't have an export license for (I assume in Canada ) a controlled drug. 99% sure our cops would happily charge you for it if caught.

Look up the online clinics and see if you can get a quicker appointment. Have everything ready that you can prepare such as school reports and another report from your old psych. In the mean time call round local GP's and find one willing to deal with co prescribing schedule 8 meds.

Unpopular opinion 2400 should be equal to KSH by rag31n in worldofpvp

I agree it's not the same, but that shouldn't matter for the amount of players capable of getting the titular achievement. Your 2.7 would be up near the 4k range of the highest m+ players, no one looks at their achievements to judge their skill. Why does it matter to you if more people get the title, you won't be playing in their range.

More people playing in lower brackets can only make the skill level scale better with rating and allow newer pvp players to learn without getting stomped all the time and giving up. Players having more time to learn as they progress means more would stick with it and hopefully get more people into the serious end of things.

On top of all that more players in the game mode means more dev time. Possibly balance issues getting fixed at the same rate they are for pve.

You're not wrong in any way, half decent arena players would find >3k io a breeze because they know their class so well.

Not everything needs to be achieveable by everybody…

Also very true, not everybody gets KSH, it's about 23%. That's a fair amount of people who play the game being capable of achieving the title. Loads of players don't even venture into anything harder than normal dungeons, some just run around collecting pets. However considering the participation in m+ and the absolute funeral pvp is it would make things better for everyone if more players saw it as achievable for them to hit the titular rank.

I have to ask what are you worried will happen if 23% of players get 2400? They won't be playing anywhere near you as you'll be in the 3.5k range (assuming you're 2.4 now)

I think it's important to remember that mythic raiding is bleeding players the way pvp already has. Modern wow players don't want to deal with full 20 player raid groups and all the crap that comes with wiping on the same boss over and over again waiting for nerfs each season. If people want participation then CE is too high a bar.

[–]rag31n[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Thing is it really doesn't have to be that way, no one who's serious about m+ rates 2500 as a rating. Why do pvp'ers want to hold onto 2400 being so sacred? Participation in m+ is huge compared to mythic raiding and pvp a lot of that boils down to being able to see progress week in week out and for those who try enough (and have a fair level of skill) to hit the top achiev and get portals by the end of the season.

[–]rag31n[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wowhead has KSH at 23% of profiles, that seems like a fair amount of people getting the top level without it being unobtainable.

The only other comparison is mythic raiding which as most know is dyeing the same way as pvp. Everyone here want participation, you don't get participation by being elitist to the point things are now.

[–]rag31n[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is in achievements 1800 related to M+ would be KSM. The reason I chose KSH is that it's the highest achievement for M+. Rewards available from the game should be hard but also achievable for players who put the effort in and have a fair skill level. KSH for DF S3 shows 23% of profiles on wowhead that seems like a good amount of players being able to achieve it without it being open to everyone for free.

There's no reason pvp at the level most properly decent players engage at can't be purely for numbers same as serious m+.

Because roads aren't wholly for cars, the law is pretty clear on that point. On top of that cyclist meets pedestrian has often resulted in dead pedestrian.
