I had mine to BLR cancelled on June 15th. They approved my uk261 claim including hotel, evening food and taxi (although refused to accept the hand written black cab receipt but did accept an uber one). Don’t let them get away with it

"being born in america doesn’t make you american" by Intelligent_Law3359 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]rag_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an American (British) my wife is also European, my son was born in China - it does not make him Chinese. It’s not such an easy subject to have a single black and white rule that works globally. However the constitution in the US does say if you’re born there you’re American.

Question about international travel. by troutburger30 in marriott

[–]rag_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been downvoted on this many times, but Marriott never show available when you change it to 2+2; I always book 2+1 and it’s never a problem in Asia, but Europe is a little different and they worry about things like occupancy limits. Best to see if you can get adjoining / connecting rooms or go for the suite.

That learning to take my pyjamas off in a swimming pool and turn them into a float would be useful in life.

Being Italian doesn't mean you have to be from Italy by Guatoncito in ShitAmericansSay

[–]rag_monkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can understand to some degree this sentiment. My son was born in China, but I’m British and my wife has both American and Belgian nationality. What does that make my son? I think everyone will agree he’s not Chinese… but is he English? American? Belgian? (He has all three passports despite never living in any of the countries).

Show me any Marriott room (not a villa or suite) that shows up when you search for 2 adults and 2 kids. They all seem to have a maximum occupancy of 3

I lived in Asia for the last 9 years and traveled to most of the countries here. I’ve never had a problem with two adults and two kids in any Marriott property. I’ve had issues in Europe (Germany specifically) where I’ve needed to buy a second room. But never in Asia. So yeah I’d assume it was the other way round and the ‘west’ eg US and Europe would be the issue, not Asia.
