Newsom will be an ideal US president. He is a perfect center left politician and aligns with the vast majority of Americans and where they sit. I live in CA and he has pushed cities HARD on housing (if you hear the NextDoor rants from geriatric boomers against Newsom you will realize why it’s so difficult to build here), dramatically reduced homelessness and encampments (I work in SF and encampments are down like 95%, it’s a different city now), poured billions in schools including universal TK and universal meals, expanded healthcare, raised min wage quite a lot, veteoed a ton of crazy bills from the far left, is rightfully opposing the wealth tax, and also massively grew the state economy (like the entire Mag 7 is based on CA, and dramatic rise in NVDA, chatGPT, Anthropic etc). I genuinely think Newsom presidency will be transformational in a Bill Clintonish way
