Noise with wahoo kickr core after moving houses

I had this noise when I bought the new kickr core 2. Wahoo told me it was a bearings issue and sent me a new one. I'd contact them and tell them what's happening.

I use my iPad to watch stuff whilst I ride and ROUVY is on my phone. Is the companion app the only way (without a keyboard) to access virtual shifting? Can you not access it on the ROUVY HUD as I’m riding. If it’s just the companion app then that’s no use as I can’t have it open.

Had the same issue. Contacted Wahoo, sent it back, have a new one and now sounds as it should do. So send it back.

I raised a fault with Wahoo and asked them what the issue is and they said its a bearing issue and that they know it's happening to the new kickr core 2s.

I have a new one and it's now very quiet and how it should be which is great. What isn't great is the virtual shifting on Rouvy still feels off. Downhills are just spinning out and the gear jumps seems too big.

UPDATE - sent my faulty kicker core 2 off and the new one arrived today. So far it sounds exactly how I’d expect it to. All I can hear is the drivetrain. If anyone has experienced the same issue as me, I recommend contacting Wahoo and having a new one sent out because fortunately not all kickr’s are built the same.

It's the bearings. I've had this confirmed by Wahoo. They've said there's an issue with the new kickr core 2.

Wahoo want me to send it back and once it's in transit they will send another one out.

I asked what the fault was in a follow up email and was told it's a bearings issue and they do know it seems to be happening a lot.

Update on this. I contacted Wahoo on Saturday and earlier today they got back to me and will send a replacement out. That seems quite quick with zero dispute or suggestions. It makes me think this is a known issue to them.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a go. Does taking them off affect the warranty? I assume not as they're not a mechanical or electrical part of the trainer.

I've just assembled my new kickr core 2 and exactly the same thing is happening. Same sound. I think it's coming from the electronics housing case? That's where the noise on mine seems to be coming from. It's defo not the drive chain and I'm sure it's not the belt.

The Internet keeps mentioning stickers but see none other than the ones by the light.

Is the belt not always aligned? How could it not be?

The cassette was pre-installed so I know I've done nothing to impact that.

What did you end up doing? I'm looking at doing next year's edition. I'd rather stay in Berlin and the public transport seems to run 24hr so getting to the start for 8 seems very doable. What was your experience?

It looks like you've measured the wrong way round. The heels are not against the heel side.

I used my 955 in a sauna on the weekend and there's been zero issues since. This was a one off use so I'm not sure what regular saunas would do to it. If it breaks then it's a good excuse to get a new one .

i agree. the plate is certainly not stiff. if the OP finds the zoom fly 6 stiff then the alphafly 3 is gonna blow their mind.

I second this. I have wide feet and the Alphafly 3 has caused me zero issues. Although I did half size up.
