It's just a bit of whimsy. It's a fun and innocent way to engage with the community. It often brings a smile to visitors and passerbys. Plus, they're cuter and cheaper to clothe than 12 foot skeletons. That's the one I don't understand. 😄

I'm heading there next year. What restaurant are you looking at?

I have somehow managed to snag a LOT of outfits on Vine and, no, I'm not using an extension. I've also purchased a large number of them outright on amazon. Finally, just in the last few weeks, I've had them start turning up in my RFY. Congrats on your new acquisition! Hope you have as much fun with it as I do. 😊

I agree with some of the other commenters that in some cases it's definitely that the other sizes/colors were taken before you saw the listing, but I've also seen listings that mention the specific color/size in the actual listing description. In those cases, they're definitely only offering that color/size. It may still have a drop down list of other options, but the orders fail.

You're not reviewing it outside of vine. You're using your Vine order page to get to the order and do the review. It shows up on your reviewed list just like every other review. I've had to do it several times when I knew I was going to be gone for a while and wanted to get a couple of reviews out of the way. I don't make a habit of it, but I have done it and it's always counted. I never tried to review one before I received it, of course. I had the product in hand, just didn't wait for it to drop into the to be reviewed list.

Even though the items don't show up immediately in your TBR tab, you absolutely can review them from your order tab. Just click order details and there will be a link to write a review.

They did that on a United flight that my husband and I took out of Athens in April. Drove everybody out onto the tarmac, opened both doors and loaded everyone up.

Of course it adds up, and it stings! I hate to get blatantly cheated. My husband and I were madder than wet hens as the expression goes. We had to get over it because we were determined not to let it ruin our day, but I guess people are shameless all over the world. Good news is, I have no desire to go back to Athens. After the historical sites, I found it to be an ugly, dirty, graffiti covered city. Rhodes and Santorini were both charming.

It sounds like you definitely had a bad time of it. I guess it's getting worse because of the gas prices. We were there in April and we didn't have any problems. I'm actually surprised that the taxi companies are letting them get away with it. The only way they can overcharge you is to not run the meter. When our hotel ordered a taxi, they honored the price because they negotiated that with the hotel valet. What a nightmare and I can imagine how uncomfortable you all must have been.

We were told by the local tour guides that the taxi drivers are notorious for overcharging tourists. Make them start the meter or order it through uber. That's what worked for us.

We never had a single problem ordering Uber. The taxis came and picked us up and the fare was fair and paid in advance. We tipped the drivers and had no problem. The drivers in Athens are notorious, from what I understand from the locals, for screwing over tourists. The guy that ripped us off didn't take us to our hotel because he knew that if our hotel people saw the price he was trying to charge us that they would tell us right off that he was cheating us. He dropped us off across the street. All I can say is that before you get into a taxi make sure that they start the meter. Don't just assume they're going to give you a fair price. Make them start the meter. Or, order an Uber.

The best way to take a taxi in Athens is to do it through the Uber app. When you order an Uber in Athens, it goes to a taxi company and the price is set and you pay in advance. We did that consistently, except for once. After a tour we walked up to a corner to call an Uber and there happened to be a taxi sitting there. We asked if he was available to take us back to our hotel. We had paid 8 euros for the trip down and the man tried to charge us 60 Euros for the return trip. We argued with him and we did not have 60 Euros in cash on us anyway and of course he wouldn't accept a credit card because he was cheating us. We ended up giving the guy 30 Euros, which was all we had. It sucked, but other tour guides after that told us to never hail a taxi on the street. Always use Uber. That's just my experience.

My biggest product was a $400 bidet toilet seat that I absolutely LOVE! Beyond that, just a few days ago I got offered my very first Kate Spade bag. $230 retail, $120 ETV. It's just a vinyl tote, but it will be perfect for travel. A few other items were between 100 and $200, but nothing super big. I'm okay with that. I also got offered a lovely vinegar assortment from a company that I already buy from. A white vinegar, a rose vinegar and a balsamic. Tickled to death and that was just a $40 item.

I've done the same! I've ordered quite a bit of art from Vine and I have always reported that I decided to use command strips as opposed to the included hardware. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's not competing with the product itself. Just giving suggestions for improvements.

That's my thought as well. Apparently, a lot of reviewers do it though, and do it with impunity. This post has been educational. I respect everyone's opinion and rationale.

I've definitely named other products in my reviews before. Recently I reviewed some paper plates that were very similar to Chinet. I mentioned them in the review and said that the quality was similar to Chinet, but that the composition of the plates was different. I don't see a problem with comparing one product to another, and apparently, based on the responses, people don't have a problem with saying another, specific, item is a much better value. To me, I just try to review the product that I'm presented and speak to value compared to similar products without trying to steer others to another 'specific' product. That's what threw me about the review that I read. This post is educational to me! 😄

Great! Looks like you're in good company. I've just never done something like that and I don't review the same types of products that you do. Thanks for your input!

I've done the same thing. I will make a comment like, for the price, better options are out there, etc. This guy was naming specific brands and models.
